Pioneer Elite SC-68 in the house!!!!!

Hello all,
I have been thinking of replacing the SC-07 which I have had since 2009. It's been in my system a very long time (for me). The reason is it is so damn good. It really did it's job well and did everything I needed out of it. I'm a little sad to pull it but there are some good benefits I saw in the SC-68 that I didn't see in the SC-57 or previous versions of the SC line.
I only buy the top of the line so no other models in the line are even considered.

I just got it today so I didn't take any good pic's yet. I just got it all installed but it's not fully calibrated or dialed in. I had to reprogram my Universal Remote for the changes in Inputs I'm using not to mention I decided to remove my Apple TV 160g I was using as a music server. The Built In USB DAC is fantastic and I'm way into that. It's one of the best features of this receiver and what pushed me into it. I'm really into computer high rez music and this was a very nice way to get deep into it and stop worrying about external DAC's for now.

I'll post a full review , Pic's and a complete compare to the SC-07.

    The Pioneer gear is nice.
    The SC-68 has all the options. The iPad app is very cool too. If you're going to be streaming music from a web source or a PC I would get the App.
    The App will also show you the room correction in a graph. Very cool stuff.

    Thats what pushed me over the top. It works very well.

    Pic's and review are almost done.
    Super quick note , it's smooth and clear. Very balanced from top to bottom. Dynamics are wonderful.

    Hi Dan - I have the Aussie equivalent - the SC-LX86K - very impressive unit - is 4 ohm stable as well, which drives all my LSi's with ease. Love the HDMI out for Zone 4, the sub out for Zone 2 and the fact it is Air Studios certified. Music is a big thing for me and that was what tended me to update (plus the 8 HDMI inputs). Me personally with my set up, I have found the "standard setting" on 2 channel and multi channel music (SACD - DVD-Audio) to sound better than in direct or pure direct modes. Congrats on your new AVR, this is my 1st high end Pioneer.

    Congratulations. All I read about these are good things.

    One quick question if you don't mind. Why did you take the compete AVR path versus a pre/pro and separate amp? At least you save money by not having to buy interconnect cables. :biggrin:
