With the big day behind us, kinda looking forward to some down time. As some of you know, had 30+ Orks over at my pad Christmas eve. Casualties weren't bad, the tv was still there when they all left along with the stereo gear. The carpet took a beating though. Red sauce....man, ya think people were raised in a barn. Kids, dropping food and then purposely stepping on it....watched that one, almost choked the little spawn of Damian. Another took the 2 litre bottles of pop and shook them so the next person got a face full of pop. People throwing their garbage in the fireplace.....wtf, it's not a garbage disposal. Geez man, do people not teach their kids how to behave in others homes ? Is this how they behave in their own ? Most likely....right ? All I know is, if I behaved like this in my youth, I would have been beat to within an inch of my life. Yet another kid, 10 years old mind you, finds the remote which I hid. Had a Christmas movie playing before. I come downstairs to see a naked woman in a bathtub simulating giving birth and pulling a doll out of her....well, you get the picture. I tell the kid thats inappropriate and switch the channel pronto. Tells me he watches this channel all the time. We are going to have a talk later dude, but right now, you touch that remote and I'll break your little fingers, you understand what I'm saying ? WTF ??

Christmas day was with the wife's side, pleasant....nice, a welcome change of pace. Today we were to hit the road to florida, visit my daughter and my crazy Canadian neighbors who recently moved down there. Weather put a damper on that, so now I get to look forward to just the wife and I chillin'. Not a bad thought. Hope the rest of you guys survived the madness. Next year, I may get T-shirts printed up on that. Happy Holidays to all, wishing you all a better new year too.

25 December is "the first day of Christmas" - traditionally, Christmas lasts for 12 days, until 6 January, Epiphany (the celebration date for the arrival of the Magi - exactly when and where they arrived isn't recorded for us... nor is how many of 'em there were).

Sounds like you had an interesting holiday...

Had about 21 people over for Christmas Eve, including one very "active" 6 year old boy. This year it was in the basement and afterwards my wife discovered that we no longer had any hot water. We figured we had used so much between filling the sterno trays and all of the washing-up afterwards so we went to bed. In the morning, still no hot water. After checking the hot water heater, we discovered that the "little angel" had turned down the temperature setting on the heater!

Our Christmas day got nuked. Was planning on ten of us over at my house. This same group was at another get together 2 days before. The home owner had a stomach flu but his wife pressed on. Turns out 9 of the 10 of us came down with this same stomach flu all at the same time between midnight and 2 am Christmas day. Had to cancel the event. Me and my three kids spent the entire day totally destroyed, praying to ralph and wondering if death might be better than this. Woke up today feeling better and we opened our gifts to each other and had a nice quiet family Christmas in the end.

Man that sucks. If I'm at a party and I know the host was/is sick, I don't eat a thing and drink bottled water. Why people press on with parties under those circumstances I'll never understand. Anyway, you had a nice quiet day with the family, thats cool and most important anyway. Mine was kinda like National Lampoon's sands the squirrel.

I had a quiet Christmas. Other than the phone waking me up at 7, because a cousin was hungry and wanted to know what was for breakfast. I guess at about 6 in the evening, another relative showed up, and complained that I didn't take the time to make perrogies this year. No property damage or anything.

My what "fun"! I would not have handled that as well as you did, tony! You're making me wary of the day when my kids have kids. lol

At least it's over or is it? Well, maybe not according to mhardy (below you). Mark, where do you find the time to "collect' or "recollect" all this "info"? Is work that slow? lol

I have no exciting stories to tell. Quiet evening with our son and daughter, (Night Before Christmas like!). Merry X-mas to all and to all a good night!

Tonyb, next year, instead of putting on a traditional Christmas movie, get yourself a copy of "Human Centipede 2".

No way man, last thing I want is a bunch of screaming scared kids. Screaming scared adults.....now that I can deal with, that high pitched kid scream, um no way. Was thinking maybe the Playboy channel. The adults will stfu and watch and we just tell the kids it's an easter bunny channel. Who knows, by the looks of the bunch I had, the Playboy channel might just be yesterdays news to them. One kid, as a matter of fact now that I think about it, might have been wearing a smoking jacket anyway.

I basically don't host many parties , I hate the mess , don't like anyone wearing shoes in my house etc. When I do host a party , I basically lay down the rules before hand. I'm also blessed with good people that I keep around me who respect our place and each other.
I have not had anyone destroy my house and I want to keep it that way.

I hear ya Dan. I do tons of adult parties, neighbors....friends, all very respectfull and never had a problem. It's my family man, one side is normal with well behaved kids, the other side are more like Cousin Eddy hillbillies, well, thats not fair to hillbillies. In the spirit of Christmas, you make an effort to get along with everyone as it's not that often anyway everyone is together. Plus I absolutely hate the drama some create. This person said that......another gets drunk and fights with the wife, blah blah. How about this......I have one particular person who has 3 kids, all from different fathers of which none are around and the current husband is 25 years younger. We used to joke that this guy still carried around gummie bears in his pockets. Anyway, this person shows up with an unanounced guest, a 17 year old spanish girl who doesn't speak any english and is pregnant with her 3rd child. Yeah, you heard that right. I was then informed that this person is adopting this girl of 17. Say what ? You want to give me a heads up ? You live 8 blocks away and this is the first time you decide to say something ? I would have made an effort at least to have another guest who spoke spanish as none of the people present did. This girl sat in a corner all night. I like all my guest to feel comfortable in my home, not alienated. More to that story but I'll spare you guys more of the drama. I hate this stuff especially around the holidays. I hate drama period and usually require people to check theirs at the door.

I mean wtf, it's Christmas eve and I have to deal with drama, drunks, and little spawns of satan. Not what I was expecting thats for sure. Well, hope all yours was joyfull and Santa was good to you.
