Alright, alright you pain in the arses!!!! After much deliberation & numerous phone calls to Dennis Deacon I went with a pair of his M2-600M mono blocks. http://www.d-sonic.net/products/mono/. I liked what he had to say & the direction he's taking his d-Sonic company. He is extremely knowelgeable & really knows his stuff. These new M2 series amps are not B&O ICEpower. He's using a new topology module from ABLETEC, a company headquartered in Norway who have been involved in cutting edge technology for over 20yrs. He really, really likes the new ABLETEC modules compared to the ICE modules. He still uses the ICE modules for his rear & surround channels in his multi-channel amps. http://www.abletec.com/
I wanted to go with the M2-1500M mono's but he talked me out of it. He was imphatic that the M2-600M monos would be the ticket for my system. He said sonically they are both the same minus the extra horsepower. There's a great review on his site about the M2-1500M mono's that he said is pretty much interchangable with the M2-600M mono's. I asked what he liked about the ABLETEC modules compared to the ICEpower. He said they added more finess, bottom end, realism, & just had that sparkle that really impressed him. We went on further but I'm sure you get the drift of the conversation. He flat out loves this new technology!
My pair are demo's so they are broken in & ready to go. Hook up was straight forward & a snap. Fired them up & away I went. I didn't really know what to expect because the Rotel RMB-1095 amp I currently have is no slouch. In fact it's pretty damn good across the board. Well let me tell you, these M2-600M monos are off the chart in delivering music. I was really taken back by the sheer clarity, the soundstage literally exploded in all directions & the music seemed to be layered (tough to explain). I don't want to say that it's as if a veil was lifted because the Rotel never left me with that impression. And I'm not going to say that I was hearing stuff I never heard before. I simply heard everything I heard before just in a whole new dimension. The KEF Q900's have now exploded with realism that wasn't there before, at least not to this hightened degree. I am convinced that to properly reproduce music in all it's dynamic glory you need lot's of good, clean power devoid from clipping. These M2-600M monos certainly fit that description These observations are just with a listening session of about an hour. So far I am overly impresed & look forward to more listening.

I'm off until Next Wednesday , I want to come over. I'll bring some craft beer with me and some Cd's. Do you have a DAC with the ability to play 192k files? If so I could bring my computer over and we can check out some High Rez stuff if you like.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

Yep! I sure am. It seems that these new purveyors of Class D technolog are really on to something! Nothing at all wrong with Class A/AB mind you but there's plenty of room for new comers in the amp department. Technology marches on."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
Congrats! New gear can really take you to that 'next level' which can be quite startling - drives home the point that everything matters in this hobby.
However, you know the rules here - pics.....or it never happened!!
H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music. -
Congratulations on the new amps.
Merry Christmas to you.

I've been following them, they are a true Digital design whereas the Class D amps are mistaken for digital because of the D in the wordage. NAD is really doing some R&D on that true digital design & so far seem to be nailing it pretty darn good."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
Congrats on your new additions! It's true: you need massive power reserves to deliver a realistic sound, whether at reference levels or not.
I'd not heard of the new module those designs are based on. Thanks for posting, and merry Xmas "Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -

Massive power reserves indeed...2000w Peak!!!!. Now that it's been almost a month since having them in my system I concur that having that much clean power void of clipping is the ticket to really hear "All" the music as recorded. They're equally impressive even at low levels, they're like a cheetah...just ready to pounce in a split second with full force, fast & powerful. These new ABLETEC modules are simply stunning in their musical prowness. I am one happy camper. Hell, I just might pick up another one for my center."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
