I need to replace a Peerless tweeter from one of my Polk Monitor 10A speakers and I need to find out if it is a Peerless tweeter made in Denmark or if it is a Peerless made in the USA (there were 2 versions).

I unscrewed the tweeter and pulled it out of the cabinet and on the back of the tweeter is the follwing # 75142478.

I read somewhere that the Peerless tweeters made in Denmark were # 75441880 but, while my tweeter begins with 75, the other numbers do not match. (I also read the the USA-made Peerless were # 55141081).

I have located a replacement pair near me which are Peerless tweeters made in Denmark and I want to make sure that the tweeters in my Monitor 10A are also ones made in Denmark so I know that the repalcement tweeter will be the same. I plan on replacing just the one bad tweeter as the tweeter in the other receiver is fine.

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I was wondering it it would be better to change both (in terms of compatibility) rather than to just change the one tweeter. It seems like I'll be changing both. Now I have to find someone to help me do this as I have no electronics experience, am mechanically-challenged, and have no idea how to solder. Unfortunately, the tweeter wires on the Monitor 10As are soldered on and not the clip on type.

I found out that the tweeter is one of the "made in Denmark" Peerless tweeters. Thanks.
