PSW150 - Time to give up on the old sub?

I have a PSW150 subwoofer that I realize is quite old, going on 14 yrs, and recently started making a low humming noise even when the system is off, but the sub is on. I took the sub downstairs and hooked it up to another system and the same problem occurred so I know it's not the wiring of the system causing the problem.
Is there anything that you guys can recommend to fix the problem? Or...am I finally looking at replacing? There are times when the humming isn't occurring and even when it is it still sounds fine. It doesn't however seem to cut on and off in auto power mode at random times.
Any help would be appreciated.
