Looking at their website, I would recommend the Ortofon Blue. Looks like you're running one on your Rega. How do you like it on your Rega? If you are familiar with cartridge setup and alignment, I would try mounting the Ortofon on your 1200 and see how it sounds. If you like it, buy one for your 1200 (or just leave the one you have now on your 1200 after you mounted and put the new one on your Rega).

Thanks Dawgfish..
I was thinking the same. but wanting to try something different.
I like 2M Blue on my Pro-Ject Table..but I can't mount it on the 1200 because I don't have a head shell yet..
So no way to check it out..
It's kind of hard to find TT stuff up here that stores have on hand with out having to order for you..

H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music. -
I use the Ortofon but looking for a new one now, will checkout the Denon.---

the issue I see is at the used prices I find, you still have a used older Direct Drive table. old wiring, old electronics, etc.
And you may not know if it was used as a DJ table in it's lifetime which would mean likely a little abuse and travel.
I thought about one for a while, but would up giving a few hundred more for a NEW great sounding table from REGA with a warranty. -
I likey the lighting in that pic. I love mine and they do respond well to wiring/cable/isolation/platter/mat mods etc. I loved it more before I went to TTWeights open house yesterday though.... Having said that it's a very good bang-for-the -buck table and I think if you have a good one that hasn't been abused you won't lose any money, they have a HUGE following and I expect will for some time yet! If i was going to upgrade from mine I think I would go straight to a TTWeights unit, very impressed. Two Channel-SDA SRS 1.2tl's,modded, Cambridge Audio 851w amps(2),Cambridge 851e pre, VPI Scout 1.1 tt, Moon audio phono pre, oppo bd105.

I talked t oa dealer in columbus that sold both rega and VPI. He said the rega RP3 was good for $1000 but if he was putting over that into a table, go with VPI

My DL160 is my backup now. They're discontinued and may be difficult to find. Stretch it and go with this. Performs excellent on my SL-1210M5G. You'll thank me later.

I am thinking about the 10x5 for my SL1200 MKII.
Would it be a good match for that model Technics as well?
I am currently running an AT150MLK, do you think I will see enough of a difference between the 150 and the 10X5 to make the $450 investment worth while? -
I think you will hear a difference but, whats the rest of your rig like? If your speakers, preamp, amp cover up sound or aren't revealing enough, then you might not.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

I love my SL1200 MKII! I've had it for more than ten years, and I've never had to replace a single belt! Ha Ha! I would not consider it "Audiophile" grade, but it leaves me wanting for nothing. Would I like to own a new VPI deck or one of those really cool skeletonized acrylic alien space ship turntables? Hell yeah, but I'll never part with my Technics.Sources: Technics SL1200MKII | SME3009 Tonearm | Monster Alpha 1 MC cartridge | Oppo UDP203 disk player | Nikko NT-790 analog tuner | Musical Fidelity Trivista 21 DAC | Preamp: Threshold SL-10 | Amplifier: Threshold Stasis 2 | Speakers: Snell Acoustics C/V | Kimber 12-TC bi wire speakers | Analysis plus Oval 1 preamp to amp | Wireworld Eclipse 7 DAC to Preamp | Wireworld eclipse digital IC Oppo to DAC | Audioquest Quartz tuner to preamp |

The 1200 is still one of the few turntables you can set within 3 feet of a speaker and not get feedback. I know its up to the consumer to make sure a table is isolated but, technics did one heck of a job doing that work for us. Just make sure its level, on the fly vta, and make sure the car. is lined up right and your good to go for an easy deck. When I had a Linn, it didn't sound too much better for the money difference. Was there a difference in the sound, yes but not a 1000$ difference. When I had the linn I would could hear footsteps when walking across the floor ( till I got it on a more solid isolation) but, with the 1200, I never had to do that. Right now since my setup is in a small room, the 1200 is only 3 or 4 feet behind the Legacy Focus and they have a rear firing woofer! No hum.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.
