Blue Jeans HDMI Cables?

I bought some hdmi cables a while back, and they are starting to go bad. Mainly the connector ends need to be wiggled around some times. Its not the device that they are plugged into because if the cables are switched around the problem follows the hdmi connector.

Looking for some hdmi cables in the $25ish range that won't go bad. Does anyone have experience with either blue jeans hdmi cables or monoprice hdmi cables (or have another suggestion)? Pros/Cons?

No heated cable depates here, leave that bs somewhere else please.

I don't get any of these threads. I have some no name cheap **** HDMI cables that have NEVER failed. Just what are you guys doing to your cables! Pulling them on and off, on and off, on and off? Because mine have been on for years with absolutely NO problems.

How can a cable that's in place fail, anyway? Maybe if it's too "heavy" it will pull on a CHEAP HDMI input on some chincy AVR or Player. Other than that, what can happen?

Not sure why it failed, just know that it did and is really annoying when you are watching TV and the picture randomly goes blank. I have disconnected the receiver a couple of times. Maybe the tolerances on the plug are sloppy? I'm not worried about getting some super awesome $300 hdmi cable, just want something that won't fail.

I actually did have a BJC HDMI fail on me after about six months of use. It was probably pilot error as I had been messing around with connections a lot at the time swapping out components and trying to do hookups at odd angles (leaning over the back of a media console and trying to make the connection blind). All the sudden I started getting audio dropouts and it was definitely the cable. Anyway, monoprice is what I've used since and never had a problem. I have another BJC HDMI and Audioquest and they all perform exactly the same no matter where I put them other than the one I dorked up.

I'd say monoprice has the advantage of being lighter but still sturdy enough for normal use (the BJC, at least when I bought them were thicker, stiffer, and heavier). Obviously angled connectors can help too if clearance and stiff cables would otherwise be a problem.

I've used both Monoprice and Dayton up to 25ft without any failures. I prefer PE these days because they deliver days faster due to location, and shipping is usually cheaper.

I use all Audioquest Cinnamon series HDMI cables which are not expensive. Audioquest has excellent entry level HDMI cables that are flawless. I never had a bad HDMI cable from Audioquest and I have Installed thousands of them. To me thats a excellent track record and worth paying a few extra bucks for. You can look at the Pearl and Forest series if the Cinnamon is out of your budget.

I can't say the same thing for other brands that I have used , Installed. I have seen many HDMI cables fail. I find it silly to buy cheap cables and have them fail.
I don't support these online cable companies simply because I don't have enough experience with them except Monoprice which I have had a few on them in the field fail right out of the bag.

Monoprice HDMI cables have worked without issue for my family. One particular cable has been disconnected and reconnected many times while trying to diagnose a ground loop, that appeared when connecting my PC to AVR via HDMI, and the connection still holds well.

The Monoprice cables I'm speaking for are their regular HDMI cables (without "RedMere").

I've slowly replaced all the HDMI cables in my HT with Audioquest Pearls and like them very much. Very well built and durable for a good price.

I've used Monoprice cables, and didn't really like them. They are stiff and I think the ferrite cores put unnecessary weight on the connectors. I also had some audio dropout issues with my setup, which better cables seemed to alleviate to a certain degree. I think the issues were more related to a failing DSP board in my NAD receiver, so that isn't as big of a factor for me. I also have a couple of BJC Series-FE Bonded-Pair High-Speed HDMI cables in my system and they seem fine. Still kind of stiff, but not nearly as heavy as the Monoprice cables. As far as HDMI cables I have experience with, my favorites by a good margin are Audioquest Pearl cables. These are Audioquest's entry level cables, but they perform great in my system and are really nice to handle. They are very flexible and lightweight, but also very well constructed.

    Thanks!

Thanks for all the input. I went with the blue jeans FE cables, they seem to be doing just fine and are flexible enough for my application.

One out of every three Monoprice cables I've purchased were bad, now all I use are BJC HDMI cables.
