Sometimes I'd like to punch myself in the face

Why! Why! Why!.........grrrrrrr. I think I have a problem! Just when I think , ok I have enough audio stuff. Boom I go buy something else. This is like a gambling addiction. I have speakers sitting that I do not use, but see a good deal on others and go buy them.
Now found another amp.... Good deal.... So I bought it.... Think my wife is going to strangle me or I'm going to start punching myself in the face to knock some sense into myself. At the time I can justify the purchase but when is enough. Guess when the pocket book starts fighting back.

I'm still working on getting a HSU 15H sub. She was cool with it, but wait till the 70lbs box shows up at my door for the amp. I better order the sub before the amp comes and deal with the **** later.

Ha Ha Ha, join the club, I should be walking around with a self inflicted broken nose and a couple of black eyes, maybe a busted jaw. The hardest part is when you say to yourself nope dont need it, then you lose sleep over it, keep thinking about it, then give in and buy it. I got stuff in storage that I need to bust out and set up, never find the time or the space. I swap stuff out a lot.

I only need one more amp and I'am done, got plenty recievers and integrated amps just need one more amp some where theres an Adcom GFA-555 for me then thats it, I will then climb out of the rabbit hole dust myself off and say thats it. but then comes some SDA's that need modding then thats it. I can only hope right? I just ordered my last three Cd's off of best buy.com then I'am finished. My New Years resolution is to say no more and back away wish me luck. Be easy on yourself Stilly74.

it makes it difficult knowing that there is always a better piece of gear that only costs a mere $1000-$5000 more....

Yeah the wife always says not more speakers, or another pair of speaker stands, she just saw the original stands I got for my CRS+,s and she said whats wrong with the other couple of pairs stashed under the steps, she got over it. Now if I bought those 1.2tls for $2500 she would not be so nice and probably show me the door.

I have the same problem! I'm only in college and have no job but I find deals all the time and I'm always tempted to buy. Sometimes I stay up late looking for deals. I almost pulled the trigger last night on RTI12s and then I realized x-mas is around the corner. I need to go to AA (Audioholics Anonymous) and control these urges.

Welcome to the club. It is not easy to stop. I got a pair of ADS at the local Goodwill for a few bucks but It will cost me a few hundreds to restore them and also got a great deal on a pair of Linn Keilidh and that was all these week. I have to say it was a good one.

No but seriously if it is becoming a drag on your marriage then you might have an impulse control problem and could benefit from some kind of self-help therapy like yoga or meditation. There are a lot of people out there who feel uncomfortable with meditation because they're concerned that it conflicts with their spiritual beliefs. But, secular meditation has been shown to have the same benefits. Studies all over the web.

Every time we go into our local hi-fi shop, I try to convince my wife that we need all 4 of the rosewood JBL Everest 2s sitting there. She asked me if we had the audio gear we needed to run them and when I said welll...we would need a good pre, amps, better source, better cables...well she just rolled her eyes.

Fortunately, I haven't hit the lottery yet and she manages the checkbook so my crack is doled out in manageable doses!
Of course, I HAVE got her convinced that there is a very valid reason why the blueprints for our house we are starting on in the srping has a theater room AND an audio room. All it took was a live Santana recording in one of the shop's listening rooms and she was sold on 2ch stereo listening. :evil
