Most cable companies, and other goods sold throughout the world, claim to have "the best,greatest,supreme",ect.ect.!Fact is,they can't all have the bestest, cause its subjective! I own a Carquest store! I wouldn't for one second try and tell my customers that all my parts are supreme, to say a Napa,Autozone,or OReileys! Because they're not! In alot of cases the parts are the same,in all boxes!(and made oversea's) I would tell them that I can offer top notch CS to them, without fail! Fact is Marketing is what sells the product,in most cases! ACDelco,is a subsidary of GM,and has GREAT marketing! People ask me for them by name. What most people dont know is,They dont make over 90% of the parts in their box! Its made by the same companies that make Carquest,Napa,ect.ect.! Marketing!!!

A guy looking for "cheap" test speaker wire and we've turned this into yet "another" cable thread. Really? No need for any discussion at that "level" in this thread, now is there?
Use what you have, hear what you hear, that's the way it's always been and will always be! Let there be a flow of electrons, and there was. And on the seventh day of creation he declared a day of rest and "no" cable debates! For he was God and God is wise!

Should that not read "For he was Roger Russell and Roger Russell is wise"? JUST kidding! lol
I agree with you cnh. But asking where to buy cheap wire is most definitely a runner up to the "where to buy black paint" thread...no?--Gary--

Plain and simple! I use the Avt2's cause I feel I got a good deal on them, and they're nice looking, compared to bulk speaker wire. I'm gonna match my new ML Montis speakers to some Analysis Plus. There again,Less then $160,and they look good! The SG S3.3's were a friends, that were"burned in". I tried them for 2 weeks, and just didnt find any sonic improvement to MY ears! Therefore,I've deciced to spend MY $1000 elsewhere in my system!
However,i am looking forward to swapping out the Analysis Plus cables, with the AVT2's on the ML,just to see if I can hear any sonic difference! GoodDay! Rob
So, in one post you say ignorance is bliss indicating no experience with cables and then flip around and state you have experience. Are you related to a politician or do you play one on TV?
Furthermore, you attempt to compare car parts to audio cables implying that because most car parts come from the same company that most cables do to. Really? Having seen cross-sections of a number of high end cables I can tell you they are not the same. They use different wire materials, different dielectrics, different wiring geometries and even different methods of termination. Therefore, your analogy falls flat on its face.
As to why you can't hear a difference, I can't say. Obviously, you are not alone, but then neither are the people that can hear a difference. However, for you to blame it all on marketing and hype is truly ignorant.Political Correctness'.........defined

I never compared Auto Parts to Audio cables,or referenced that all audio cables were made the same! What I stated was that the marketing of the ACDelco was so good, that people asked for them by name. And those same people didn't even know they didn't make their own parts! Hence, the marketing factor!
Furthermore,my "Ignorance is Bliss" reference wasn't for me! You can figure out the rest! GoodDay, Rob"Everything I ever did in my life worthwhile I caught hell for" -
Sure thing there Bobby boy, whatever you say. I can see that from your AVR and Oppo you've been around the block a few times. Therefore, I bow to your wisdom and knowledge of all that is audio. :rolleyes:Political Correctness'.........defined

honestly any wire you have around the house will probably work,a good contact is good. I had a similar situation and I used typical 12-3 in wall wire. If not for how horrible it looked I might still be using it.

well he said he just wanted to get it up and running =] lots of people have lamp wire, if you are worried about resistance you can just double up on it.

Damn, I forgot about that !!!!If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money. -

Why kill a perfectly good thread? Some good shots have been fired, nobody has been seriously injured, some could be reloading for the next barrage and besides, this thread hasn't had any ravioli yetSource: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2
