I like! Nice paint scheme too.

You reckon some furniture, i.e. stuffed chairs. couches, etc. would improve the acoustics?

    whoo-boy, you got that right...

The room's not as big as it looks; that's the wonder of an ultra-wide angle lens (10-20 mm DX format Sigma zoom on a Nikon DSLR).
There will be (more) proper furniture in there eventually.

I dig it! utilitarian, but clean! I would throw that chair to the curb if it was me, but that's your prerogative :)

The chair is a placeholder (well, a buttholder) and has in fact already moved along.

It is actually of some sentimental value to us. My wife did her graduate work in a tissue transplantation laboratory at the medical school associated with Matt Polk's alma mater ;-) Her work involved the HLA transplantation antigens in a somewhat inbred human population (i.e., the Amish). During her time working with Amish folks in PA (over 30 years ago now), she bought, or was given (I am unclear on that part of the story), that bentwood rocker.

I think Mrs. "Ma Barker" Mhardy would feel much better about herself by coming clean and just admitting that she stole the darn thing. The Amish are a very forgiving people.

In the meantime, .... nice room, nice setup !

Ha! There was a point in their life when Charles and ray eames could've passed as Amish :D

Although an original HM eames lounge would probably be the most expenssive thing in that room, but worth every penny, in my opinion.

I would go for a nicely worn vintage ekornes recliner, if i were spending my loot. If I'm spending someone else's, well then, the Herman miller it is! :)

Very nice, get a better chair as suggested above. The rest is super and I'd love to hear it.

OK, so I know youse guyses won't approve, but - for now - the furnishing (singular!) consists of our son's old futon... there is a reason for this. The loft has its own staircase and door; it will be maintained as a kitteh-free zone. With a son and a son-in-law with cat allergies, it will be a safe haven.

the covered bridge down the road... my in-law's "farm" (well, it was once a farm) was through that covered bridge and up the hill. Thirty acres and an 1850s Cape Cod-style farm house... it was a very nice place :-)

Looks nice. But that fish eye lens (or whatever) makes it look like its the size of a small Dept. Store? Trying to "eye" it from what must be a futon that's a little over 6'. I'd say it's roughly 18'+ wide x 20-24' long? How close am I? Perhaps it's larger but the lens is tricky!

In any case, that's over 400 sq. ft. which is big enough. I have 170 sq. ft. and I can barely move in it! lol

    Enjoy!
