As a stand alone piece the sound quality is pretty darn good, now throw in a nice DAC & be prepared to ditch the CD player. Welcome to the new "audio" norm. Streaming!!!!!

I use to stream FLAC rips of my CD's and also MOG and Pandora. Love the system as I have it combined with two Sonos:PLAY units which allows me to play the same (or different if I choose...) all over the house.

Great system which I always recommend to friends and two have chosen to install at their homes.

Sonos connect is the way to go for streaming music wireless, i think its better than the Logitech SB.

I support this statement as I have done countless Connects with external DACs and had amazing results. For a streaming player , it's the best one out there IMO. Not to mention how cool Sonos GUI is and the ability to make a pretty killer whole house audio system with them. Amazing products , incredible value.

    Sonos update

Just loaded updates, Sonos has stepped up their game once again. Now anyone in the house with an IOS device can connect wirelessly to your sonos and stream their own content to your sonos. So if guests want to play their own music tracks they can...downfall they may be MP3's:frown:...I am sure they will follow suit with Android

I believe what it does is takes the music files from the phone too, which is going to be mp3, but the benefit is playing it into your system which hopefully will have a dac.

This is what I ment in other threads about Sonos constantly working to make their software better.

The music on mine and my wifes phone is Apple lossless we took turns playing music from each others phones last night while cooking...just to cool

Great feature for parties too...now people can play what "they" want or have without touching your gear, just turn it on-set the max volume-ready to jam
