Classe CA151 & CA180 Amps

I have found a guy locally that is selling Classe CA-151 2 channel amp and a CA-180 5 channel amp as a package. I really dont need it, but I have a friend who has been looking to move up from an all adcom amp section. Has anyone heard these amps before? The guy is asking about 2400 for the package. Is that a good deal? Just trying to help my friend out to make sure its a good deal. I personally have never heard classe gear so I thought I would post here for some guidance. Thanks

I've heard nothing but good things on Classe amps, and I do feel they would be an upgrade from Adcom. Can he demo them before buying?

They look pretty good, now I am not sure about the price. I think the CA-151 is actually a integrated amp and if it is there is one in Audigon going for $1,100.00

They guy does not have any speakers anymore. This is the last of a high end system that he bought a while back. We just want to make sure the current will be enough to drive some new B&Ws he just bought. everywhere we read says B&W and classe pair well and he just bought the 804 diamonds. It is the CA 151 which is a 2 channel amp 150 wpc in 8ohms, 300 wpc in 4 ohms. -
the intergrated was most likely used in a second system but you can use it as a pre-amp with that 5ch amp.

I auditioned B&W Diamond 804s, 802s, and 800s -- all driven by Classe gear, and the performance was extremely good -- not good enough to get me off my Perreaux electronics and SDA SRSs -- but very, very good. One problem was that I would have neeed a subwoofer to get the sound I wanted, and I have no place for a subwoofer in my room.
As I recall, the salesperson told me that Classe and B&W have a business relationship -- perhaps, they are owned by a common parent company, but I could be off base on this. In any case, this AV store recommends Classe electronics with B&Ws, and they sell a variety of high-end electronics.Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers.
