Just purchased a pair of SDA CRS. Can I hook them up to standard intergrated recievers like a yamaha, denon or hk? They did not come with the interconnect wire, do I need one with my recievers? If no, when would I need one and what does it do? Can I buy a cable new from polk, how about the stands? Do I need be concerned with the "common ground" reference?

Congrats and welcome to the forum.

    Are those CRS or CRS+?
Yes. I have CRS+ hooked up with my Onkyo HDMI receiver and works fine. Almost all new HT receivers are common ground.
You don't need IC cable for them to work but without IC, you won't get SDA sound from CRS and that means waste of SDA technology.
It'll just work like two normal polk speakers, not SDA if you don't use the IC cable.
However, you can buy IC cable from other forum members, from auction site or build one yourself.
Search here for how to build one.

Use a stand to have tweeters to your ear level.

After you get the IC cable, these need specific placement for the right SDA sound.
11 inches off of back wall, at least 3 ft open room on their sides etc... several threads here mention their correct placement options and listening position.

    Klipsch RB81, KG3.5, B&W DM602.5, Polk.
Subwoofers: Klipsch RW10, Triad ProSub Bronze.

If they're the original CRS Models with two tweeters, they may be a difficult load for your receiver. The CRS+ used different drivers, and only one tweeter. They are easier to drive than the originals

Be careful with Yamaha receivers. The couple that I have owned over the years were all eight ohm rated for a single pair of speakers and sixteen ohm when running two pairs.. I inadvertently fried a CR-840 almost instantly after plugging in the SDA cable on my 2A's.

Good luck and enjoy the new speakers.

It's integrated amp, but I get the feeling you meant AVR. They are different animals.
11 inches off of back wall,

That will vary, but 5 to 6 inches is the normal.

Congrats on the speakers and welcome to the club.

What is your budget for an amp? Many people like Adcom, NAD, Parasound, B&K.....etc. It depends on what you are trying to achieve with them I guess. I use an Adcom GFA-555 for my SDA's and like it but thinking of moving up the ladder now that I've had it for a couple years. There are a ton of choices out there, just make sure its common ground.

Don't have a budget just looking for some good sound. I always liked the looks of Carver but know nothing more about them than that. What would you sell the Adcom for?

I bought an interconnect cable directly from polk, if you tell them you are a club member they will give you a discount. I'm pretty sure the Adcom is not a common ground amp, I'm not familiar with the CRS models but I blew 3 drivers because of using a non common ground amp.

Which Adcom amp did you use? A lot of them are common ground and if I recall correctly the ones that are not can have the grounds strapped and will still work fine.

Not sure what I would sell it for but when I'm ready to, I will put it up for sale here most likely... It's in great condition, almost just want to keep it for history's sake, just a solid piece of gear.
