Okay Ive got 4 bass shakers & a plate amp for a sub, what is the best way to hook them up? I was thinking that the plate amp has a 2 spk hook-up, run the 2 positive on the amp to 2 bass shakers jump from there to the other 2 & do the same to negs. Is there a site where I can go to to figure this out thanks
My HT set-up Panasonic front proj, 120 in ws screen, ATI amp,Integra 9.8 pre-pro, 2 Polk rti150, cp 1000, 4 fx 1000, Pioneer blu-ray 2 SVS sub pb 12-ultra 2, & Paragon popcorn popper. ps 3 Coaster leather HT recliners.

    What impedience is the amp rated at? What nom. impedence are the bass shakers? A little more info if you want a good answer...

    Rtotal = (1/R1 + 1/R2)^-1 parallel
    Rtotal = R1 + R2 series

    These apply for nominal loads. If your shakers are anything like speakers, the load varies with frequency. But that wont matter for what you're doing....

    To stay at a 4ohm load, you'll need to wire 2 separate pairs in series, the wire the separate pairs together in parallel.

    Same result, but the pic shows 2 separate pairs in parallel, then the 2 pairs wired in series.

    6 of one - half a dozen... you end up at 4ohm.
