Amp wiring and hookup

Been looking at amplifiers lately. I've been curious about hookup. Using the preouts to the amplifier it looks like you can use plain RCA cables. 'Plain' may not be the proper term. I found some cables on monoprice for subwoofers but wondering if it would work for amp cables as well.

Thoughts?? Also, do you keep these cables a short as possible for clean install reasons? I'm looking to just a get a 5 channel at some point.

Subwoofer audio cables will work, "plain" cables will also work although there is a benefit to going with better interconnects, short as possible is best and keeping the interconnects and the speaker cables away from the power cables will also help. If they have to cross it is best at 90 degrees to keep as much noise as possible out of the speaker and interconnect cables. Also keeping all the cables as short as possible keeps it from looking like a rat's nest of cable behind everything. Good luck with your hunt.
