The wife, yes another story, is addicted to stupid reality TV shows. Housewives of Jersey, Orange County, New York, and buffu Iowa. Sister wives is another. She stumbled across the most idiotic show I have ever layed eyes on. You can actually feel the brain cells dieing as you watch this show. I'm totally ashamed that this is a part of america. Even though I've know it all along, having it played out infront of you just turns your stomache.

What show is it ? Honey Boo Boo....are you effin' kidding me ? Just a small rant guys, because I can't believe someone thought these people to be TV worthy.

My wife only watches HGTV (which isn't too bad) and complains when I watch a movie twice. That's why I have multiple TV's. I agree on the reality TV shows. Worthless.

Came home from work today and wife told me the toilet is clogged. She said she tried to plung it but can't get it.
Naturally with kids in the house I had to ask "DID ANYONE TOSS SOMETHING IN IT?"

She replied with "NO!" and that she was in their when they went ( potty training ) the 3 year olds she watches.

Well after about 20 minutes with plungger and no luck , I get out the shop vac to drain tank and bowl. IT is then
that I hear a "clank " and guess what I found?

It wasn't a toy or anything like that, it was my DEODORANT!!!!!

If wife was with kids every time they went then HOW DID IT GET THEIR?

Must of been the NOT ME kid from FAMILY CIRCUS right?

Entertainment has changed, and so does time and generation gaps. Instead of being bothered, change with it but instill solid values. Personalities change but values do not. Keep that baby boomer attitude alive, and we shall soldier on.

You guys do have some smart people in Iowa. I understand that AstroTurf was invented there to keep the cheerleaders from grazing during football games, and the guy that started U-haul came from there too. After some 50 attempts to build a trailer, he finally figured it out and took I35 Southbound, and a new business was born...:cheesygrin::cheesygrin::cheesygrin::lol:

The baby boomer are the ones that messed things up to begin with... and VALUES, morals and personalities have all gone to hell in a hand-basket. I am all for changing with the times, but what is happening now is beyond stupid. I see more formerly atractive young women(and men, but I don't swing that way) that have given up their god-given looks to become Borneo Tribal wannabes than I care to count.

Society is coming apart at the seams.. these shows are not the disease, but rather the symptoms of much larger problems.

I saw like 10 mins of this show and wanted those 10 mins of my life back.

Just so wrong, so so wrong, and stupid, so so stupid. Then people wonder why I just want to sit in a room and listen to music all day then watch TV.

Exactly my good man. The children of the hippies have now grown up. Whats next ? The dumbing down of America continues at warp speed.
The lack of creativety astounds me at times in the TV world, much like the lack of talent in the music buisness these days. They give anyone with cleavage a microphone, barely dress them and let them hop around on stage and whalla....a new sensation is born. Actual singing talent is secondary and in some cases not even necessary.

Hollywood used to have some class to it, not anymore. It's a shame that such a powerfull medium as television has turned into a hodge podge of brain dead viewing.

The best thing thats happened to television in recent memory is the cancellation of Jersey Shore. The saddest part of that show, IMO, is that all of those mindless knuckleheads are now millionaires. I blame the segment of the population that watched and allowed this show to go on and on for years and NOT the cast of the show. It's the same with any other piece of trash show on these days. Stop watching
    No excuses!

Society is coming apart at the seams.. these shows are not the disease, but rather the symptoms of much larger problems.

Some people in this country have always enjoyed freak shows and other forums of deviant public "entertainment". Prior to television and reality shows, there were traveling carnivals with bearded ladies, people with severe deformities, people with severe mental disorders (watch him bite the head off a live chicken), etc. Public executions, both the legal variety and mob lynchings, would draw crowds from miles around. I don't ever recall a time when most people could resist slowing down to to get a good long look at a horrible traffic accident in the other lane.

Looking further back a couple thousand years, I hope we never sink to the levels of ancient Rome where an afternoon's "entertainment" for thousands of people consisted of going to the coliseum to watch innocent people be fed to lions or be butchered by gladiators. The ancient Romans weren't content to watch a simple athletic contest. Oh no. They wanted to watch gladiatorial athletes compete to death. If typical Roman citizens from that era could come from the past and see our reality shows, they would be bored to tears. They would wonder how a technologically advanced society such as ours could tolerate such boring, infantile and unstimulating entertainment. They would question our sanity. They would cringe at the thought of thousands of people piling into a sports arena to watch a professional football game where the athletes get paid large sums of money to just run up and down a field, pass a ball, catch a ball, "bump" into each other...and nobody dies. Most of the time nobody gets seriously injured.
