Request for retirement is DENIED!!! Now get back to your desk and figure out a way to bring some monster SDA's to market!

In all seriousness, congrats on taking the big leap to retirement. You've helped make alot of home and car audio fanatics very happy for many years. Kick back and enjoy!

Twenty-Six years ago I joined a little speaker company with a big ideas and a bigger heart. To look back on the ride from then until today is frankly breathtaking. Who could have imagined? I've made great and lifelong friends and a lifetime of memories.

It?s time now to move aside; to hand the next 25 years over to a new generation with fresh ideas and boundless energy. If you were fortunate enough to make it to PolkFest, you met some of them. October 5th will be my last day at Polk Audio.

Some of us are assuming that Al is "retiring" as opposed to moving on to something else. I'm having some difficulty imagining Al going to the house full time at this point.

    Agreed, DK.

I'm sure Al, knows what he wants and will do it, in any case.

I knew you were a quitter the moment I first laid eyes on you. First Matt, now you...

Some of us have been treated pretty damn good here and "there", and for quite some time now. I think you had everything to do with that Al, not just something to do with it, and I'm honored and thrilled. All the years since '99 on the forum, the HIGH high points were the fests, especially '08 for all those selfish reasons. Thanks a million.

If you enjoy your retirement one tenth as much as I'm enjoying mine, you're going to have a blast. I can't remember ever saying "I'm not doing that" so much in my life (well, maybe before I retired I did, but that was a while ago). You and Hedy enjoy life to the fullest, whatever your idea of that is!

    Congrats, Al. Wow.

Thanks for all the friendship and support over the years in countless ways. Thanks for cultivating the forum (and not pulling the plug on it when the common sense thing would have been to squash it), Polkfest...for allowing to remain a grassroots event and for helping make and KEEP Polk a company that truly does have heart.

    You will be missed.

I'll be raising a Makers in your honor....and see you in Charleston next year!
