The 705 is an incredible speaker, I would buy this for a 2 channel system. I like it much better than the 707 and 703- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I'd take the 705's,703's then 707's.

what did you like better on the 705 than the 707? I haven't heard either so not sure how they do as a floor stander. the 703's were nice and for a monitor very good. I"m not a monitor guy at heart but they were nice for what they did. -
I'd pick the 703 then the 707. I don't find the 705 that useful aside from a hole filler. The entire lineup is rock solid so you can't lose.
MarkCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
The LSiM707 in a normal size room is extremely unbalanced sounding. The bass is muddy and overpowering to me..
The 703 in the lower registers has some issues around the tuning point to me...

IMO you are spot on with the 705's and 707's. I found the 707's bass can get muddy pretty quick and overpower the rest of the speaker. The 705's are the most balanced of the series and has no problem filling larger size rooms. The 703's 6" driver seems to over extend itself at med-higher volumes. -

Do you have the 705's Lee? Is there anywhere in Milwaukee or Madison that you know that has them on demo? I thought American had them but I went to one in Madison and didn't see them. -
Yes, I have the 705's. 2 of the 3 American TV stores in the Milwaukee has the 707's on demo. They're using Cambridge gear on them.

I would really like to hear both the 707 and 705. The 705 sounds very interesting.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Your not going wrong with any of the three, but room size MUST be a factor. Those 707's are like Hitler, they need some breathing room but are stunning when the get it.
The 705,s really impressed me at the fest. The 703's at the fest (and when I demod them ) impressed me, but at the fest I think they were placed a little to far apart. As with any high quality speaker, which this whole line is in spades, the devil is in the detailsLiving Room 2 Channel -

So long story short, my impression is that in most usual home settings, the 703 or 705 is the order of the day.Living Room 2 Channel -

Once I get my basement finished, I intend to have a lil party for any Polkies that live within driving distance of Eastern PA / Macungie. You can bring any equipment you would like to check them out on your gear. Plan on beers etc. A full day.
I am framed out now. Plumbing is done. Waiting on AC and electrical guy now.
I will have the 707, 705, 703 and 706c on hand to listen to. (Hooked up to NAD M25, Marantz AV7005 Pre, Oppo95)
I have the 707s hooked up now in my bedroom while construction is being done. They sound very, very good. A little strong on base but detailed, not muddy. Listening to The Police, Sting, Zep, Steely Dan etc...the base is clear, noted and...quite frankly appreciated! I can't wait to get them set up in a bigger space to breathe. They sound nice even at low volumes as well as reference level.
I will keep you posted as the construction continues.HOME THEATER 5.1
