Yup. I own most of these already. Maybe I'll just fill in the 'holes' with them, however. They are really tempting, however, at these prices. I need to not get carried away.

Funny thing is I've just gone on a bit of a Beatles vinyl tear on eBay. I have original US stereo pressings of Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour from when I was a kid. I've recently purchased the MFSL vinyl Abbey Road, an original UK Mono Sgt. Pepper, A Hard Day's Night, Help, and Revolver, and a UK Stereo White Album. None of which will stop me from getting this box set. Yeah, this hobby's expensive...

I need more information than this. What were they mastered from? I have the MFSL set, and they are superior to the CD remasters in all respects. If the LPs were cut from the same tapes as the mid '80's "purple" LP's, I'll pass. I don't think these are going to be all that special.

Second thought, I may hold off on this set and wait for reviews. Just read that these were pulled from original tapes and digitized at 24/192. I'm sure it sounds amazing, but I'm having a hard time getting excited about vinylized digital Beatles. Am I crazy?

Well, I don't have as many of these as I thought...about half. Maybe I should sell my copies and just order the box. I agree with the notion to wait for reviews, however. Anyone who does get it...maybe post your thoughts?

The thing is, the original cd's sucked. There was a huge need to put out the remastered cd's. The original vinyl, on the other hand, did not suck. Far from it. The problem with the original vinyl, of course, is that it's hard to find, especially in mint condition. If you've already got the Beatles on vinyl and your records are in good shape, is this set really necessary? When the 2009 cd's came out, there was a lot of hype that there were finally cd's that sound as good as the vinyl (arguable....) But certainly nobody was suggesting that they sounded better than the original vinyl. Personally, the vinyl I want to own is the original mono. Not to say I won't buy this set though!

That is insane! And that's with $50 off the box set if you pre-order. So basically they're charging you $105 for the box?!?!?! Screw the box set, I'll start off with one or two individual albums and see how they sound. I ain't buyin no $105 box....

Kind of like the Doors SACD Analogue Productions box. I just bought all the SACD's individually. Don't need a "limited edition box" for around $100.00, thanks.

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Preorder is back up on elusivedisc, this time it's $349.99, so now it's in line with buying the individual albums. Think I'm going to pull the trigger on this, but I may just hold on to it sealed and wait for the reviews to come out before opening it. If I don't see a compelling reason to use these over original vinyl, I'll just sell it and probably make money on it...

I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order. Reading all the commentary, seems like there are a whole lot of questions floating around about this box set. In particular, the questions over where the US pressings are sourced from versus where the UK pressings will be sourced from. UK Beatles vinyl versus US Beatles vinyl, where have I heard this one before! This truly is a reissue, complete with the arguments over whether to get the UK versus US pressings!!!!

I'm going to sit back and wait for the reviews to start coming in. It may be that the UK version is the way to go, I will wait to get my read on after this box set is released.

I canceled my pre-order to. There are just to many unknowns about this set right now. They say it is a limited edition. Kind of like the cd mono box sets. Limited to how many they can sell.

Well, they're saying the first pressing is limited to 50,000 sets. But they're not saying that it's limited to one pressing!

I would get the MoFi set anyway. They are more expensive but they were done right IMHO.

If they sell 50,000 sets, you'd better believe there will be more than one pressing.
