I've got 2 50" Plasma TV's. One Samsung and the other Panasonic. The Panasonic has better picture quality in my opinion. However, if you want a TV for everyday usage for movies, OTA shows, gaming etc, I would go with LED.
My kids play video games a lot, and there are times where the plasma has a lot of burned-in images, which go away after watching a movie or so, but they are annoying to me.
The Samsung is finally showing vertical colored lines on the right side of the screen, which might be a sign that it might be going out.
Even though, I love the picture quality of the plasma. I am definitely going with a LED TV next due to the burn-in issue and how much heat is put out and how much electricity a plasma uses compared to a LED TV.
I also want a TV that has IP Control, which it appears that Panasonic and Sharp are the only two with this feature.AVR: DENON X4000

I had a VT30 for the longest time - best TV I've purchased bar none. Games had no lag, retention went away very quickly.Main Surround -
