Do CRS+ stands resonate?

I'm getting ready for the home stretch on my CRS+ rebuilds. My Dueland resistors ship from Denmark next week, and I should be doing the veneer work shortly. I have a set of the original stands, but I've been thinking about whether or not there could be any degradation due to resonance when the speaker is on top of the stand. I don't want to start doing dynamat on these things, that would just be ugly. I'll have the stands on spikes so they won't be coupled to the floor, but would it make sense to also put spikes on the bottoms of the speakers? So the speakers would not sit flush on top of the stands, they would have spikes underneath. Worthwhile or complete overkill?
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Excited to see your upgrades to come, I would really like to come across a + pair in the near future, "winter is coming". I couldn't feel much if any, or detect any when I had my first versions with stock stands. If you want to go big, I would fill them with lead shot, someone here has done that I believe but couldn't find The thread. Maybe they wll speak up. I would spike the stand, rather than the speaker. If you don't just order some blu tac and use that, works great. Good luck with the upgrades, take lots of pics!

As codyc1ark said, lead shot, or even sand. There's also "Great Stuff" expanding Polyurethane Foam Filler, which should eliminate any "ring" from the steel, and wouldn't add any weight.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Fill the stands with lead shot, no need to spike the speakers to the stands, I just used some nice rubber stops between the stand and speaker..

Alternatively, Larry, you could do a run of your CRS+ stands! I'm sure you'll have takers :cheesygrin:Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
