Looks like my sc-35 hdmi output is dead. I switched outputs, switched cables, unplugged it for a couple of minutes, reset the reciever, ect. I can get a sd signal if auto video convertion is "on" but no hd. I need to find my receipt but am sure if is out of the 1 year warranty. Looks like the harmony remote will have to do the input switching on the tv for the video and run the audio through the receiver. I'm sure it will stupid $$ to fix a video board. At least I didnt pay full retail- $800 for a refurb. I think the picture is better cabled this way. Oh well.

Sorry to hear the bad news. If you don't want to shell out the $$ to fix, you could relegate it to audio-only duties and pick up a new machine.

Sorry to hear about that too! Mine's just out of its warranty as well, which always makes me nervous. I'm curious how much it would be to fix it though. Keep us posted, best of luck to ya.

Sorry to hear that. Seems to me it wasn't refurbed enough from the gitgo. Regardless, I always tend to go for demo units over the refurbed, personal preference is all.

There was a thread on this a month or so back that they did some crazy type of reset and that fixed the HDMI entirely. Will see if I can find it

I had an Onkyo that had the same problem (HDMI Board). The guys at the AVS forum found a fix for it. You had to do some soldering but parts were cheap. Maybe you could find a DIY fix for your sc-35 with a search on google or on the forums.
    good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've googled diy repairs but havent found any thing yet. If I can get the parts I would be happy to fix it. I need talk to a local repair shop but dought it will be worth it. I have been very busy this last week-installed 300 sf of tile in our sunroom, going camping this weekend. So maybe next week I can look into it more.

One suggestion , reset the receiver to factory setting. It's in the manual. You turn off into standby and hold a few things on the front to reset it. I forget off hand.

I had a SC-57 that would not pass any video , did the factory reset and back to perfect working order.

If the fix requires a repair (see Mantis' recommendation above), you might be surprised about the cost. Low-tech problems in Solid State amps are a flat $75 to fix at my local electronics shop. I don't know that they could fix something like this however. BUT, it doesn't cost anything to ask.
