Feature reboot of Robocop and Carrie? Really? Why?

So I am flipping thru the channels and came across a 1984 movie called "The Philadelphia Experiment". I suppose we all know what the film was about. But what ever happened to Nancy Allen, the female lead of the film? We all knew her from "Dressed To Kill", "Robocop" and many other films, so I went over to IMDb....and that's when I noticed they're readying reboots of "Robocop" and "Carrie". Come on, really?

The reboot of Robocop has a cast that include Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman, and Samuel L. Jackson, but looks like character of Officer Anne Lewis (Nancy Allen's character in the original) is gone.

Btw, Nancy Allen is semi-retired nowadays.

Reboots are getting annoying , anyone have any new ideas for movies? Seems like Hollywood is out of them right now.

Yaeh, i'm sure there's another Disney ride that they could turn into a movie. Or comic book, TV show, board game, kids toy. Maybe Rocky VII.

There should be a thread for "Moves we don't have to worry about re-makes of" Nude on The Moon (1961) has got to be one of the worse films ever. Written and directed in part by Doris Wishman. I watched an interview of Wishman and when asked about Nude on The Moon she admitted the movie had nothing really to do with the Moon but with the, mostly, naked women. You know the movie is bad when the main female character is know only by her first name in the credits. I agree, all the remakes of movies from our gen are mockeries.
How can you remake robocop, total recall, or the thing? its so sad, and they are so crappy.
