    I figure that there will need to be about three more generations of improvements before I will be willing to replace the 65" Panasonic plasma I just got.

    What I am waiting for is an OLED in an 80" or bigger size, appx 8K resolution for two thousand dollars.

    Hopefully it will be coming along by 2018.

    It will probably draw 85 watts, while my new 65" plasma draws 485 watts.

    I think you'll be waiting a tad bit longer than that for 2 g's.

    The end of the 'spinning' media should have come long time ago. It's the stupid studios that cannot figure out how to overprotect their recorded content. You can always distribute a move on a 32/64/128GB solid-state USB drive or SDHC memory card. Those cards are fast enough to playback whatever content via USB 3.0 or similar format.
