You do realize this thread is almost 7 years old"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
Why did it re-appear? Phil

No, I wasn't dumpster diving for BLoSE parts. Just happened to run across the thread in the depths of the forum and I saw who the author was........so I posted my reaction. Figured it'd be good for a Friday night chuckle or two.
I wonder if Russ still wants those pic's?

My girlfriend has 901's and at first I too thought they completely sucked a$$ - to the point that I really felt bad for her having spent so much on them (yrs ago before I knew her).
But then I hooked them up to my Denon with a Carver amp and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! They sound great, but ONLY with an amp. Just my experience...HT

I have never been impressed with the 901's, not that I have listened to all variants. They do make good party speakers as they play loud. I was always more impressed with the 601's.Stan
