Buzz in speakers

Model number? RT5, 48973 speakers, get a buzzing or vibration noise, not a backgroud noise, seems to coincide with treble sounds, i.e. voice or guitar, not noticible on bass. Happens when either turntable or cd are playing, so I thought it was more a speaker issue than an amplifier issue. Oddly, seems worse at low volume, if I hear the hissing or buzzing and crank up the volume, seems to go away, or maybe just becomes less noticable? Please use plain language for any suggestions, I'm clueless about technical terms in this area. Thanks in advance

Have you verified that the "sound" is coming from both speakers?
How far away from the speaker(s) can you hear this "sound"?
You say amp. Do you mean power amp or AVR?Political Correctness'.........defined

along with F1's questions, what type of connections on the speaker wires? bare, bananas, spades?
i have experienced similar symptoms with both a bad connection in my wire terminal, and with a loose wire internally at the tweeter.Polk Lsi9
