My Surroundbar 4000 is plugged into my tv via optical, but when I turn on the tv the volume on the surroundbar is way too high (the volume was at a reasonnable level before turning off). Is this normal?

Hello pat,
Welcome to Polk's forum. Have you programmed another component's remote into the SurroundBar? Or, is the SurroundBar only responding to the Polk remote?
Regards, Ken -
I have the Samsung TV remote programmed, I put the Surroundbar remote away.

Hello,
Let's erase the learned instructions and start fresh. To do this put the SurroundBar in the standby mode, the power LED will be red. Then push the "learn" button for about two seconds. The power LED will blink twice, in an amber color, indicating that the internal instructions are erased. The bar will still respond to the original Polk remote but not an external one. Now go through the learning process again using the TV's remote and see if the problem has gone away.

Hello,
Do you mean your Sony TV begins playing at higher volume than when it was turned off?

Did not work, the problem still persist and it is really annoying!

Hello,
In that case it would be best to contact Polk's CS department either via telephone at 1-800-377-7655 or via email at polkcs@polkaudio.com. I'm sorry you're having a problem, but they will help you solve it.
