Hi guys unfortunately while trying to figure out why my rca was making noise i manages to set fire to my mm6501 tweeter before i had a chance to hear it sing. Is there any way i can order a single replacement?

Hello,
You should be able to replace that through Polk's CS department, providing you purchased it from an authorized dealer. Either send them an email at polkcs@polkaudio.com or via telephone at 1-800-377-7655.
Regards, Ken -
i dont believe it was an authorized dealer. im just wondering if its possible to purchase a single tweeter or even a set of mm tweeters?

You can buy what ever you want if you look deep enough, I think that goes without saying. I would, however, avoid letting H9 hear of this oversight as he might be humping your leg for the next 6 months about your abuse of equipment.Too much **** to list....

Hello,
Yes, the same contact information will put you in touch with the CS department and you can order a new tweeter.
Cheers, Ken -
Thanks ken. yes i should have known better than to turn up the gain but the noise sounded like a pure sine wave which is why i thought i was safe. I think the fact i was pushing close to 200w didn't help either

Hello,
When you call Polk select extension 208 and explain what happened to Kim, tell him you joined Club Polk and that I asked you to call. I'm sure he will be helpful.
Cheers, Ken -
As much as I don't mind smoking, I don't recommending smoking any tweeters...
Good luck with the fix. -

Is this really needed in a polk cs question? This part of the forum should be treated like a store front.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
that is true lol

Eh, you're probably right. To be honest I didn't notice the post count, just caught the thread out of the corner of my eye.Too much **** to list.... -
Get rid of the RCA and you'll probably stop frying tweeters.
