Would you sell your (non SDA) Polk's for Snell Type C III?

I have an oppurtunity to pick up a pair of Snell Type c's for a fair price. Only downside is I have a few too many large speakers sitting around right now and I need to unload something to free up some space. Would you sell some monitor 10's in order to pick up the rarer snells? I am leaning toward yes, since If I ever want another pair of 10's I should be able to find some somewhere.

Absolutely , Snell's are amazing and I think you'll be very happy you made the move.

Agree with Mantis, but I would definitely listen to them first. May be a sound that just doesn't sit right with you.

Like you said. Monitor 10's are not hard to find if you want to get again.

I own Snell J-III's and really like them. There was a recent article in Stereophile from one of the main reviewer's (I can't remember his name) saying how much he still liked his old Snell J-II's even though they are decades old.

I borrowed a friend's Snell C's (the original version with the angled tops) hoping they would sound like the J-III's on a larger scale, and didn't like them as much. They seemed shrill.

Tried various tube pre's, tube amps, and a tube buffer which seemed to help tame them, but not enough, since I still found them fatiguing.

I agree with the above comment about trying the C's first, with your equipment first if possible.

I've heard a couple people say that about the angled top snells. These C's are not like that fortunately. I've listened to them on a nice setup and the highs weren't shrill. Listened to some Rush and Getty's voice came through real nice.

Now I like Rush as much as the next guy...buf if Geddy Lee's voice doesn't sound shrill the tweeters must be blown.

It's so hard to find good stuff local and I want to see it before I buy it. You know what you have in those. I see the prices trending up. If you could store them I would.
