I have not done a side by side of these 2 woofers but after looking both over I'm thinking the 1000 is a better choice. I also suggest getting 2 like you planned.
Now at 1800.00 bucks for 2 of them are you getting the best bang for buck? Still not sure here. Polk makes great speakers always has probably always will. The one place I have always felt they lacked was in subwoofer technology. Yeah they make very nice woofers but I've heard much better around the same price points.
Still I wouldn't discount them as you never know , you gotta go somewhere where they carry them or talk to some people on here who own them with opinions on performance. I for one wouldn't buy anything without testing it myself or off people I trust.

The DSW Micro Pro series is leaps and bounds better than anything Polk has made in the past and rivals much of the current competition. They finally got it "right" in regards to subwoofers.

I'd go with the Micro Pro series without giving it a second thought. Perhaps a single larger Micro Pro might be better than dual smaller.

I gotta get my hands on a few of these and trial run them. I'm curious as I have installed just about every single model before hand , probably all of them even going back to the passive days with sub sat systems.

I was never a fan of Polk subs until I heard the Mirco-Pro series. Surprised the hell out of me how musical and fluid they are. These have come a long way compared to the older subs and aren't strictly just for HT anymore. I could see one in a 2ch system if you needed a sub to augment the bottom end.

Agreed, I reviewed this sub and it's a winner (surprisingly musical with enough punch for HT).. But it's best for two channel and for smaller to mid-sized rooms. I agree with, Brock. Get one of the larger microPros if you have a bigger space and you want more HT oooomph!

For HT, get the DSW Pro 660wi.
