I watched one be born from a plain circuit board to what you see in the pic's. Man what a wonderful sounding hand built preamp. If one doesn't need HDMI switching out of a pre , and wants the ultimate sound at a price thats crazy , jump now. I'm thinking about buying this for my future museum that I want to build. It's on my list of important gear in my life.
One thing that is special is the Notch filters. No one was doing this like B&K was. Way before MCACC , ARC and Audyssey. B&K addressed room problems where it counted , in the lower frequencies. I did so many of these in the past.
One last detail is this pre is the exact pre that lives inside a AVR307. It's exact I watched one go into a AVR and one go into the pre chassis. Sweet .

If I had the extra money right now this would be sold.

Good luck with the sale as I'll be stopping in to see how it's going.
Did I mention how much I love this pre?

Dan is spot on. The ref 30 was pretty much just bolted to the b&k amp you see for sale too and called it a receiver, the 307. Having owned the 307, it was the best sounding receiver I personally ever owned. For the price, the ref 30 offers sound quality and connections up the ying yang your not going to find in too many places. Thinking about this one myself.

I would be more than happy to see if this found a good home in somebody who's appreciated this.
This has firmware version 2.11 and have it checked and cleaned 2,3 years ago.
