Which of these 2 receivers is best?
My friend gave me the 94txh and I already own the vsx1021

The 94 is probably 4yrs but has more head pwr plus preouts for amp, the 1021 has no preouts. Depends how rough your friend was on the 94 and what gear you have....I would keep the 94
    2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
Desktop rig: LSi7, Polk 110sub, Dayens Ampino amp, W4S DAC/pre, Sonos, JRiver
Gear on standby: Melody 101 tube pre, Unison Research Simply Italy Integrated
Gone to new homes: (Matt Polk's)Threshold Stasis SA12e monoblocks, Pass XA30.5 amp, Usher MD2 speakers, Dynaudio C4 platinum speakers, Modwright LS100 (voltz), Simaudio 780D DAC

Yeah I found that out its 4 years old.
I was curious because every time I see the ELITE label I think it's legit haha

    My current setup is
    Pioneer VSX-1021-K
    Pioneer SP-PK51FS 5 speakers
    Polk Audio PSW505 (Subwoofer)

Only thing connected really is my PS3

    Thanks for answering though txcoastal1

Should I use it instead of the 1021?

The 94 will likely sound better than the 1021 and has preamp outputs. I'd say if the 94 has all the inputs and features you need I'd use it. If you let your AVR do video scaling the 1021 likely has a better scaling chip.

The vsx94txh is a much better AVR despite it's age. I loved that model.
