Center Channel speaker question..HELP!!
I have Polk RTi 28's as my mains. I am purchasing another set of 28's for surround. Now, Polk recommends the CSi30 center channel speaker. I thought for the sake of consistancy, another RTi28 as a center would be just as good. Any thoughts?

Let me elaborate. The center channel is the most important during movies. It is responsible for almost all the dialogue and most of the on screen action. It should be the best speaker in the system (not counting sub). The CSI30 from what I know is just a rti28 with two woofers.Graham

I agree, the center channel carries +50% of the HT information. I would suggest the CSi40, but either one is a nice center channel.
I have put this CSi30 thru its paces and it hasn't skipped a beat. To say that the CSi30 is just adding a woofer is a little broad IMO.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? The form doesn't fit the function. Use a center channel for center channel effects, not a surround speaker. Out of curiousity, I tried it yesterday with an Rti28 and it didn't work work very well at all.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Dorokusai,
I just meant that the csi30 will be similar to his 28s because it uses similar components, but better for a center channel. I have a csi30 and like it very much.Graham -
