Great pair of speakers here, I'm in the process of rebuilding mine at this point.

GLWTS, someone near you should grab these if they are looking for the big boys and have room for them.

Thanks Charley....I'll continue to look for a pair of TL's closer, but, still, this is a great pair of loudspeakers!

In theory it is possible but not very cost effective. you would have to replace all the tweeters and most of the mid drivers. Then you would have to change the inductors when you rebuild the crossovers as they have different values. I considered it when I rebuilt mine with gimpod boards, but the 2 versions are not really similar at all when you compare the components in detail.

Feel free to PM me if you would like more specific info...

SO, your tellin us theres a chance.

    Hi Charley,

If I had cash in hand what would be your ridiculously low ball price. Cash now that is.

keeping in mind i have a set of the boards that i am already not using. I would be either not interested in the boards or sell the here for 90$.

SO, your tellin us theres a chance.

feel free to read up here...he even turned his into mini 1.2TL IIRC..

    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?35433-Polk-SDA-SRS-1.2-2.3TL-Modifications

$300 worth of tweeters and $100 worth of boards has this price of $800 total leaving the cost of the speaker at like $400! If you ever considered this size of speaker, the op is offering a great deal.

That was my thought when posting the ad. I just don't think there is a lot of people that have $800 lying around to spend. I would really like to sell them but, don't have to sell. I've sold good equipment in the past too cheap and have regretted it.

Mostly I wanted to try them on the S3.3 when they get here. The dough I have lying around is more in the 1.2 tl range so all things considered it's best they go to someone that wants to keep them and not just a whim purchase. I'd trade you two full weeks of bow hunting for you and a friend, that is worth well over 1500, if that grabs your fancy.

Put them on Ebay with a start of $850.
Be as flexible as possible on the local pickup/delivery also offer to help them to get their own trucking company.
To me it seems that $800 is nothing to pay on a good set like that with the tweeters and board worth $400 already.
I know people that pay that for a nice turntable in a heartbeat.

This is a great deal for someone! Pat is a great guy, and was even willing to help out in transporting part of the way. I am in no physical position to ride in any vehicle for more than 15 minutes at this point, so even with that I had to back out. Also a friendly bump to a fellow musician in the Quads!!! Best of luck. I have to go with a SDA set that can be delivered and still make $$sense$$ of it all. Almost there!!

Peoria is 76 miles from me, I could see the look on the wifes face as these are getting unloaded out of the truck, I had a heck of a time bringing home the third pair of SDA'S a forth pair at this size, I could see it now a homeless guy out on the street with some 2.3'S. I bet somebody will pick these up eventualy. Enjoy them until they are sold, and GLWTS.
