Hello all, I am new to your forum here. I want to start by saying that I have heard a lot of good things about Polk
home speakers, That being said can you tell me why Polk? I have been looking for some speakers to go with my
Integra DTR-50.1, I have looked at the Energy Take Classic 5.0, The Klipsch Quinette III, and some others in the
$300.00-$500.00 range. What speakers are comparable to those in Polk's Line Up and why would I choose them?

Thank you for your respected input in advance.

I own klipsch, looked and listened to the Energys, but ended up with the Polk RTIA series. I suggest giving them a listen if you have not yet. Great for HT.

...and with all due respect, coming from someone that prefers Polk over all brands, I would NOT recommend you buy Polk...

...that is until you've heard them, and other speakers, for yourself. Speakers, and sound, and most other things in life, is highly subjective. One size definitely does not fit all. Take your favorite music with you and go to any place you think you can demo and listen to the differences.

I buy polk for a number of reasons: Quality, Customer Service, and Value.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

Following up with what Dskip said. TL3's are very good speakers. And sound much bigger than there size would have you believe.

If footprint is an issue look no further than the TL3's.

I have listenes to well over a hundred diff. Manug. Speakers ( was in the audio buss. Back in the day) jjave personaly owned over 30 pair of speakers over the last 10 years, and the polk line is unsurrpased in thier price point. Especially the vintage ones. It will take between 3 to 4 times the price to beat a polk speaker.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

It looks like all you choices above are "satellites" so I'm assuming that's your market? If so the TOTL Blackstone TL3s are your best choice out of all the available Polk satellite series. The use a tweeter very much like Polk's TOTL towers and bookshelves! Compare those to the Klipsch and the Energy and I am "sure" you'll hear the difference. Match them with a great sub and you'll be happy!

Stick around and we'll spend even more of you money! lol

The Blackstone TL3s are a treat and will go head to head with the others you listed, BUT, I did find some SDAs on eBay~ http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-POLK-SDA-1-STEREO-FLOOR-SPEAKERS-OUTSTANDING-SOUND-/370621185603#vi-content

this was on sale for 300 last week. I own the entire Icon W Espresso line and they all sound great and are the best looking speakers under 1000 that I've seen.

I own Rti A7s too but use them only for HT. The A7s are great for HT but come a bit bright for music. I prefer my Klipsch espresso for music, and if you can get them for 300 i would recommend them over the A7s.

also these look nice and this is a great deal, but i haven't heard them. They are popular in europe, but not much buzz here.

ENergy has a great looking chery veneer tower in same price range too, a member bought them a few months ago..

I would consider a few alternatives before jumping. There is some choice in this price range for sure.
