Need Help: Rti8 Tweeter blown out ?

Hello polkies,
For my HT setup, i am using Rti8s for the main, Csi5 and 4 Rti4's for surrounds and HSU MK II for sub all connected to
Onkyo TX-SR706.
I recently noticed no sound from the left channel tweeter on Rti8.
Appreciate your help on the following
1. Is the tweeter really burned out or a loose wire on the tweeter
2. If it is really blown out, do you see any obvious reason: too loud, not enough power etc ?
3. If it is power related what do you recommend, add a 2 or 3 ch amp ?
If i've missed anything else, please feel free to mention. I am open to suggestions and advice.
Thanks

1. One way to check for sure is to remove the 2 screws (if I remember correctly) and pull the tweeter and verify the connections are good.
2. No way for anyone to really know. How loud do you usually listen to stuff? Have you heard any pops? Make sure all your connections are good?
3. Adding an external amp is always preferable, but unless you really know what happened, who know if that will solve your problem.
I had a tweeter issue recently, but I knew the cause, so I was able to troubleshoot and repair it accordingly. Verify everything is connected properly and nothing is loose. Swap wires, swap channels with the other tower and see if is the speaker or the AVR. Then, I would suggest you verify if the tweeter is actually gone by removing it, if connections are good, install it on your other tower. If it works, then the next thing to look at is your crossover. Look for obvious signs of damage. Burn marks, warped capacitors, etc. Any funny smells? Then if you need a new crossover or tweeter, look for a used one here or just contact Polk direct.
Hope that helps.Living Room:

Thank you, Vadang
I'll remove the screws and check on it this weekend. I am considering to change from a 7 ch setup to 5 channel and bi-amp the front towers. Is this is a better option ( for a 13 * 18 theater space ). If i am not going to loose a significant "surround feel", i could just replace one of the tweeters from my rear channel Rti4. Just a thought. Let me know if i am thinking straight ! -
It was a very simple fix..
One of the plate on the red terminal was moved away and not touching the other terminal. So, i think the internal crossover assumed it as bi-amping and was not supplying power to the tweeter. Oh boy.. !
Connected the plate and secured... it worked. !
