i dont know anything about your receiver but first find out if its 4 ohm stable....the lsi speakers are 4 ohm.
my 2 cents is upgrade to the rti70s because lsi's will most likely not sound good on a receiver like that. the lsi needs alot of power....or so i hear. ultimately it comes down to personal preference but i would say get rti70s, you will be amazed enough by those. for me, being a 16 yr old kid, theres no way i could justify the price of the lsi or the gear i would need to make them sound good.
i love my setup and my rti70s. they are a great speaker, i dont think theres a person on this forum who doesnt like the rti70s...then again maybe there is.
have u demoed the lsi yet? -
The LSi series is awesome for multichannel. In my book I think the SDA's are far superior for two channel but we are not talking 2 channel here. I can't think of any 5.1 system that out does the lsi's. If the center is weak I would have to assume someone didn't set it up properly. The center is rather small but delivers what is necessary to seamlessly mesh with the othe lsi's.

edit: heed the power warning in the previous post.Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
Go For It!! The Lsi series are fantastic speakers!! I would recommend adding a seperate amp if your receiver is not rated for a 4ohm speaker.

You Can! Couple of tanks full of gas, a few packs of Lucky Strikes, point your car west!;) If you're ever in the area, let me know.
Thanks for the compliment! -

I wanted to add that I feel the LSiC is also very good. I think the only bad reviews have been when it is underpowered. If you upgrade to the LSi's you will likely want to upgrade your receiver as well. I've gotten by with a lower power receiver, but I'm in an apartment and I will be adding an amp at some point anyway. If you'd rather not upgrade the receiver, you've got a really nice system as it is.

Thats is the standard....
Think before you buy. When going Lsi,you'll want better all around.Itg doesn't stop with the receiver. It's the sources,Monitor or screen, the wire, even could go behond the room.....
The rt series will work very good with your current receiver,it it has to stay, then stay with that line.Down the road Lsi will be waiting.

The lsi9's and 7's made my onk800 run very hot even at low to mwdium volume . Would not reccomend it with out a amp. I had same reciever and went and purchased a amp.

I corresponded with a rep at Onkyo about the same question, because I own an Onkyo receiver too. The receiver can run them, but will get very hot and can clip at levels around 40+. With that in mind I would not suggest getting the LSi series unless you get separate amps to power your speakers. I plan on purchasing a separate 7.1 amp and LSi models as my next upgrades. I spoke to the rep at Onkyo mostly, but here is a quote from an email I received too...
"We do not recommend the use of 4 ohm speakers on are receivers. We find our receivers perform better with 6 or 8 ohm speakers."
Hope this helps.

Ya 4,000 is about all i can spend on an amp if i can use my reciever or if not thats the price for both.TV WS 65809 MITSUBISHI HDTV REC ONKYO TX-SR800 DVD SR-5700 TOSHIBHA MAIN RTi70s CENTER CSi40 REAR FXi50s BACK REAR FXi30s SUB VELODYNE CHT15

If you can swing 4 g's then look no further then the B&K avr507.It's the perfect choiced for the Lsi series.

4 g's??? Holy crap! If one could afford to throw that money on an amp, wouldn't it be smarter to spend it on a Bryston or better yet...save some cash and get the Rotel...leaving a lot left over for proper wire?"she had the body of Venus, with arms."
