Re-reverse phase on pioneer MCACC?

When I first got the q600 center and ran the MCACC calibration it told me to reverse phase on the center channel, so I did even though that meant hooking the black to red and red to black. I ran it since then to setup a pair of speakers to sell and then reran it with the KEFs back in place and it was fine with the way they were hooked up.

Well I ran it again tonight to erase some bad eq trials and it told me to reverse phase back to normal red to red/black to black. I tried it a couple of times to make sure it wasn't a fluke..

So my question is why would this change if I haven't changed anything in the system?

I've never seen that ever. You might have something wrong with that center , you might have bad reflection problems or very crappy placement. Something is very wrong if this is what your getting. usually when it says to reverse phase mean you wired your speaker wrong.

Did it also change the timing (delay in ms) of any of your speakers when you reran it?

That I don't know I didn't really check, but I wouldn't think by much.. I usually hit the run button and then leave so I don't affect anything. I haven't changed anything.

I was thinking that the speaker may be placed in a position where it is right on the edge from being in or out of phase, which could confuse the MCACC. If the delay changed with the phasing, then the combination of the two could result in the same sound coming from the speaker that you had before the change.

If a speaker is out of phase it should be fairly obvious, IF you know how to listen for it. If you have a DVD with the THX Optimizer on it there is a test for phasing on there. However if your speaker is right at the edge of being in/out of phase (90 or 270 degrees out of phase), then the test should sound about the same when it is playing in or out of phase.
