Sorry that nobody answered. I have played my tsi100s with an old 1984 Harman Kardon PM650 and a new Denon surround receiver. They sounded way better with the HK to me. I have a Volodyne sub and they match very well.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

Sorry we didn't pick up your post earlier!

Firstly, "disregard' the statistics you list above, especially the Samsung ones if that's a Home Theater In a Box [HTIB]. All those numbers are Fluff!

    Where are you "located"??

And are you setting up a Home Theater or just two channel. If Home Theater, move up to the Yamaha Aventage series (whichever one you can afford).

Do you think you might "upgrade" your system? Because if you do. Save for a receiver with pre-outs (those are RCA outs on the back of the receiver that allow you to hook up a MORE powerful external power amplifier and NOT use the internal amps on the receiver).

If that's not an issue for you. Look at the Yamaha RX 67X series. Or a Pioneer VSX 11XX series. Etc.

Do you like the Yamaha sound? Have you heard it? If not, go out and listen to Onkyo, Pioneer, Yamaha, Harman Kardon, etc. in the 400-500 dollar range if you want a mid-range AVR. Most pieces under that price point...well, they're entry level and you can do "better"!

TSI series sound pretty good with almost "any" of these receivers IMO, so that's a plus!

    Good Luck!
