New Surroundbar 6000 major subwoofer hum

Where does this infernal hum come from? I bought this system today and can't deal with the constant hum coming from the subwoofer. The bar itself sounds far better than my TV speakers but I do want the whole package. Plunked down $500 and want what I paid for. Is this a common issue? I have repackaged this system to trade it for another one tomorrow but am not feeling confident. I have loved Polk Audio since my rocker days of the '70's and don't want my memories soiled.

    Hello Bluesman,
I'm sorry you had a disappointing experience with the SB6000. That is not the way the system is supposed to behave and I'm sure getting a replacement will solve the problem. Let us know how things turn out.
    Regards, Ken

Thanks Ken. I have always been a fan of Polk Audio and knew this couldn't be right. I swapped it out for a new one and presto, no hum. Just beautiful silence until you crank the volume and then it washes over me like a wave. Thanks for everything. This was my first experience with owning anything resembling surround sound. I am still a classic audiofile. My stereo is the classic 2 channel!! My records still have the wonderful scratchy sound!!

Thanks for the update, Bluesman, I'm glad the replacement worked properly. What's in your two-channel system, if you don't mind me asking?
