I've been following the thread nooshingjohn started for toolfan to make some more. I already have a set for my 7C's and will definately considering getting some made for these.

^ thanks vstarkwell- The Luxman is a nice piece. Only 55 WPC but has a nice sound, and excellent build quality. I'm using it to listen to the 2.3's for now. I need to take the Denon 890 out of my system and replace it with the Onkyo 706 so I have pre-outs to add the Adcom 5400 amp to the mix and drive them with some decent power. Hoping to get that done later this week.

Last night's playlist included - Heart Dreamboat Annie, Billy Joel A Innocent Man, and Donald Fagen's The Nightfly. All sounded really great. I need to go back and pour over the SDA playlist thread.

Thanks guys. I've really not been able to fully evaluate them yet. Going thru the little Luxman is nice but they need some power. Hoping to set them up with the Adcom 450 pre and Adcom 5400 (might try the Rotel 981 too) amp tomorrow. Not sure on the SDA effect yet. Pretty sure the large wooden ent center between them is hurting performance, as well as not on a true wall. Been racking my brain to how to reconfigure the room to optimize better. There is really no other place to put the couch. Even if I place the large couch on the wall with windows and av racks (have to move those out) and got a smaller love seat recliner couch, I don't think I'd have enough room on the sides to have end tables if I switched walls between the ent center and where couch is now.

I'm thinking of wall mounting the TV and moving the ent center into my son's room and finding a less wide av rack and bring the 2.3's a little closer together, then they'd have more of the wall behind them with less interferance between them. I might even try to build something myself. Thinking 42" wide would be enough for 2 19" wide cubbies and say 30" tall so 4 slots basically for the dish rcvr, Onkyo 706, amp, and PS3. I could put a turntable and the center CS2 on the top of the rack.

It's a work in progress. I'll update after getting the on the amp and see how that affects performance. I have noticed that most vocals seem to come somewhat from the left of center and don't know if I'm not in the sweet spot of an equalateral triangle or if maybe one of the dimensional drivers is off. Need to check phase on all the drivers as well.

Time for an update, it's been 6wks since my last post here and I've really gotten a pretty good feel for the 2.3TL's now. It's taken some time and effort to optimize the space I have. Went ahead and bought an inexpensive av cabinet that is 47" Wide vs the one I had been using at 60", so I now have a little more wall behind the speakers as well as open space between them. The SDA effect and bass have both improved.

I now have Larry's rings and brackets, dynamat, and spikes on hand to start the upgrades very soon. Was able to acquire the Yamaha amps from the lady who sold me the 2.3's, and am currently using a Yamaha M80 @ 260 wpc. Tried my Rotel 981 on them and it sounded pretty nice, but I wanted something with a little more headroom. Picked up a Denon 2910 and some nice Audioquest IC's from Neil (nwholford). Went back and forth between turntables. Had a Technics 1600 initially and then tried a Fisher MT 6250 for awhile. Picked up a nice Pioneer PL 530X this past week and think I'll be happy with it for now.

After the inital upgrades I'll look into redoing the crossovers this winter if funds allow. Pretty content as is and will just enjoy the music for awhile. Thanks for all the helpful comments and kind words- Travis

Trying to add pics and having problems....I'll keep trying-

No luck, I go to manage attachments then to the folder I have on my desktop select file. Ask it to upload and it scans thru and then gives a red exclamation point (size is only 800x1200 so shouldn't be too large). Don't know if anyone else has had problems recently adding pics.

Glad you're enjoying your new speakers.

You could always try a photo hosting site if this isn't working out.

^ I know I could, but I don't use flickr or picassa or any of the others right now and don't feel like setting up an account just for this. I've not had any trouble loading pics since my 1st attempt over a year ago until tonight. Don't know what the deal is. Emailed the pics to Enders and hoping maybe he can link them for me.

I find the system a bit non-user friendly IMO but that's vBulletin. Plus it saves bandwidth for polk. As of late, I made the switch so that's why I suggested it. They are great to have (online photo hosting account).

Now all you need to do is extend the wall the 2.3's are on about 2 feet in either direction .

    Looking good bro!

P.S. that center is crooked and its driving me nuts

The center is not crooked I assure you.... I spent hours trying to get everything level. My wall needs painted from all the pencil marks it looks like grid paper. The piece of plywood that the wall bracket is attached to is level (the wall studs were 19 1/2 and the bracket only went out to 17 1/2 wide). The wall bracket is level with the plywood- but the tv is on a articulating mount and if you look at it wrong or try to shift it so it's even with everything else, the tv becomes offset about 3/8 inch.

It's driving me nuts as well. But still an impovement I think:biggrin:

The 2.3TL's are mostly on the wall now. The wide angle pic makes it look much worse than it actually is. The sides extend 9" past on both sides- so 12" on each has a wall behind:rolleyes:
