SDA 2 pin blade with cable $200

Guys I have a chance to get a pair of SDA 2 for $200 bucks they appear to be in good shape cabinets look good and the cable is included going to check them out tonight is that a good price and will these sound as good as my CRS+s. I am pretty excited and just need to know what to look out for. I forsee me selling one pair of my CRS+s if any one thinks I shoud nab these SDA2's. a few words of encouragement might help me make the decision:smile:

    The wifes already shaking her head saying you got to be kidding me I told her I will be done with speaker purchases after this. How do I tell if they are A,or B and how many models of SDA2,s are there?

    If they DO have the Pin/Blade IC then there 2B's, As far as I know Polk didn't make 2's or 2A's with the P/B IC. Are they Studio's or not, The Studio's will look like 2A's and the non-studio's will have wood end caps and cloth covered sides.

    I think they are 2B's from the pics they have the 1 tweeter the two midranges and the passive woofer they must be the ones
    on the bottom of your descriptions, what do you think gimpod $200 a deal on these? Man I'am pretty excited

    BTW, if you have not heard SDA's yet, you should know that as good as these are, they are a bit of a gateway drug that leads inevitably to you needing more and more SDA goodness. There will be not turning back until you have a fully hot-rodded set of SDA-SRS 1.2TL's in the house.:cheesygrin:

    I will meet the guy tonight, that means I will have 2 pair of Crs+s and a pair of Sda2b Is there some kind of SdA help group

    Wife or SDA's ? that's a tough one, Personally I'd have to go with the SDA's you can always turn them down when they get to loud or off when you don't want hear anymore, Try that with a wife. :eek::razz:

    I got them as soon as I saw the guys place I knew that they were well taken care of I dont see anything wrong with them, except the IC is hard to get out of the right speaker. I will post pictures of them in a couple of days. If you go to the Quad Cities Craigslist and look in todays electronics posting you can see them. The wife was suprised and said wow, I guess that means ok.

    Cool! Congratulations and let us know what you think of them. You must do the crossover upgrade and TL mod to them as well as replace the nasty sl-2000 with the RD0-198-1 tweeters (only after the TL mod of course). Are they the studio or "real wood" versions?

    I don't know the studio versions are black right? These are wood veneer, what do you mean by real wood, if they were real wood I couldn't imagine being able to carry them heck they got to be at least 75 lbs apiece.

    I will want to Mod these as they are in mint condition, I will have to get a hold of one of the guys out of Chicago like H9 or tonyM for some guidance.

    Polk is famous for lousy record keeping and "mixed bag" runs of speaker models from what I've been able to ascertain in my time here. I have a pair of SDA-2Bs in a fake oak vinyl covering and "plinth" construction. The discussion about the existence of such a model went round and round for a while before all the "all knowers" conceded that a woodgrained, studio configured, non-black, pin/blade SDA-2B did in fact, exist. I believe the reference to real wood pertains to the later models with wood "caps" on the tops and bottoms of the cabinets. See pic:
