Kinda funny how things have changed. 500 miles north and the summer is almost as hot and usually more humid than the Dallas area. No more snow days for your Tracy when there is a skiff of snow on the roads.

Last summer in KC was fairly mild compared to this one. Hopefully they get some rain soon. I was at the Lake of the Ozarks last week and it was 106 degrees every day and everything was burnt to a nice crisp brown. It's looking like we might get some rain later today in KC.

Not sure exactly where you relocated too Tracey, but a buddy of mine just sent me this link about Googles gigabit ethernet internet and TV service. You might already know about it. He sent me the link cause he knows I would be lusting after this type of speed.

Google Details Its 1 Gigabit Fiber Network In Kansas City, Will Come With TV Service, 1TB Of Cloud Storage, Nexus 7

Getting settled in. Work is crazy hours so no real time for CP this summer, hopefully that will change as we closed today on house and furniture arrived yesterday.

THe plan is to have the 2 channel system going this weekend.

Finally I can seperate HT from 2 channel. Same room but on different ends of the room. Just need to locate a decent stand for the new Panasonic 65" plasma I have my eyes on.

Weather here has been hotter than Plano this summer but it is finally cooling down and is very nice in the evenings.

I received my AL transformer but have not had a chance to swap it with the forget the name of the one I got from Canada.

I figure I will be hosting a local Polkie GTG in about a month.

Anyway, just thought I would check in and say HEY !

Life is good in Kansas, living in NW Olathe.

    thsmith -

I did a lot of consulting in the downtown KC area over the course of 5 years or so. I pretty much called the Marriott downtown my second home. I love the BBQ there and highly recommend going to Oklahoma Joe's BBQ. It's located in part of a gas station, but it's amazing food. Pulled pork is some of the best I've ever had, and put that with some of their fries and you are set. Kansas City also have one of the biggest BBQ competitions around in the American Royal. If you like BBQ, this is the place for you.

Of course there is a lot more to offer than just BBQ. It really is a great city.
