Need Help on different kinds of Bose 901 Series 2.

Some seem to have "70s gray/brown" carpet for a grill, while some have a white/tan almost thin canvas appearance. Is there any difference if they are both Series II 901s?

Some early 901 models definitely had a white "linen" grille not unlike, say the Dynaco A-25 or some AR and KLH loudspeaker systems of the same era (early 1970s).

    I don't know about "grey/brown" grille, though.

    Old ones good.

    New ones crap?

I had a customer give me three Bose systems, all with blown "stuff"

I fixed them all and gave two of the satellite systems away. The kids loved them. Hooked them up to their computers.

The five sided ones had destroyed surrounds so I re placed the surrounds and they sound quite nice. They are being used as kitchen speakers now. Don't remember what color the grills were originally since I dyed them.

There is no difference. A Series II is a Series II. All used the same, improved, blue cone woofer (The Original Series I had dark grey/black cones). The were two cloth models, off-white grill cloth, and dark tweed cloth. In addition, there was an optional wood front model, which could be ordered directly from Bose, or as a retrofit kit. The last Series II, which I own, is the Continental. The Continental foreshadowed the styling of the later Series III/IV with wrap-around walnut veneer, and curved front.
    Hope this helps.

No difference except in appearance like the guy above this post stated.

I prefer the look of the linen or off white myself.

Cool, anyone know of any deals on Series II eqs(either they are selling or have seen online), I may try to get this pair but they DON'T include the EQ. I just want an EQ lined up so i don't have to hunt ebay for months for a deal.
