Got the boards in and again not pleased, better than the last batch I got. Electrically there fine but it's the cosmetic again, The silkscreen is not very crisp, smudgy looking and parts are missing. The soldermask (The black) has nicks, scratches and smudges etc...

Maybe I'm just being too picky but I want to send these back, get a refund and try a different place. What do you think?

    Hey Tony,

From the pics I can't see anything wrong with them. All I see is your reflection - what's your concern that's not showing up in the pics?

Obviously, they have some quality control issues and don't seem to care about it either. I'm with you Tony, I'd send them back for a full refund, but if the majority is ok with them, then so be it.

Did you click on the pics for the full size version, If you enlarge them (your browser may scale them down to fit your screen) to full size (3260 x 1712), Scroll around and you'll see what I'm talking about, Now I know it won't affect the boards function just the looks that probably won't see after the assembled.

Here's the links Top View and Bottom View

BTW: I screwed up the links for the 3rd pic (First Run Bottom), the URL tag should point to R1-bottom.jpg not R1-top.jpg and the IMG tag should point to R1-bottom-sm.jpg not R1-top-sm.jpg. If a mod could fix this for me that would be great.

Thanks Jesse the more I compare the first run boards to these the more inclined I am to send them back. The two versions really don't compare in fit and finish.

To everyone else, Because the boards are a shiny black there very hard to get a good picture without them reflecting everything. I'm looking at this as if I was going to buy these would I be happy when I got them? I don't think so.

I say get what you paid for and send them back until they get them correct. If not everyone agrees though I understand and am fine in letting majority rule.

Tony, if you don't find them acceptable, pretty much tells me all I need to know. Do what you feel is right and I'll accept that as the right decision.

Thanks guys, I just sent some boards back for them to check as they requested hopefully they'll go for a refund and be done with me because I may have found a place down under that can make them the way I originally wanted them green bottom and black top, they're even sending me a free sample board so I can check the quality of there work. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

We've gone with premium parts for our rebuild and IMO we should continue the trend. I say we get some good boards.
