The Devil's Ride !?!? Are you F'in kiddin' me ??? That show that I just saw for the first (and last) time, is laughable and the "bikers" are like a bunch of gossipy women. Great programming........of a comedy !

Americade (the world's largest touring motorcycle rally) starts next Tuesday, (runs the 5th-9th) 16 whole miles from me. I might stop by from time to time. -
Four friends and myself rode to Springfield, Ill. this past weekend to take in the bike races. Springfield is the home of the fastist dirt mile in the country. 750cc class will reach speeds of 130-140 mph, it's a lota fun to watch.
The races were great, we headed out to the parking area just to find that one of my friends bike was gone. Stolen along with four others that afternoon, a crappy end to a great weekend. -
Anyone going to Sturgis? Being in FL we've been to Daytona too many times. This year we're doing Sturgis. Should be fun. Everyday is at least a 200 mile ride.

This TT 1/2 mi. flat track is fun and the oldest event of it's type in America. ( I attended for my first time in the 1960s and saw Bart Markel run !)

Tip: DO NOT park ANYWHERE near the track ! (you'll need a leaf blower to get the dirt off yer car) -
I'm sure I've posted this pic before. I'm riding less these days since having neck surgury. Didn't ride at all in 2010 (doctors orders), only about 800 miles in 2011. I've had it out a couple of times this year, but I'm thinking it may finally be time to sell her. Or I may just keep it to look at. Can't decide.

Very "pretty" ! Maybe a different style of bike where you're in a more upright position wouldn't aggravate the neck as much ? "Clip ons" kill my lower back nowadays !

It actually sits fairly upright, the bars are well above the seat, unlike more hardcore sportbikes. The problem is more from bumpy Michigan roads, and wind blast against the helmet at speed. I've ridden quite a few cruisers, aside from being boring, they kill my lower back. -

I finally sold my 91 ZX-11, but when I had it I have to admit there were plenty of Friday night beer nights where I sat in the garage looking at that bike.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Been riding for 30 years now. Kentucky is up to 22 motorcycle deaths. Almost all of those are from left turners, couple rider errors, and one freak incident where the one pair of rear drive wheels/tires of a semi came completly off and struck a motorcycle with a passenger. fyi, just one of those tires weighs around 300lbs.
I went down to deals gap 3 weeks ago, and I'm going again next weekend.
Here I am on my 2011 Yamaha FZ8.

AND: Those are real carbon cans too. The bike came with carbon look, wrapped silencers on it. Both of the carbon sides put together weigh far less than a single one of the stock sides. (Kept the stockers though, stored nicely away.) They have a nice, deep, throaty sound to them too. -
I used to ride and miss it terribly. I got rid of my last bike after getting sick of avoiding at least one wreck each time I rode. And now, with a fake complete hip, riding has to be in my past, dang it. My old bikes from last to first: 84 Virago 700, early 70's Honda CB400 or 500, Yamaha 400 special II, Kawasaki 750....And, rode a buncha friends bikes, from custom choppers, to dirt bikes...rider from 1977 through 2001....Favorite bike - Fatboy with solid wheels - still half tempted to jump back on every spring since I stopped riding - enjoy and be safe !Onkyo TX-NR636
