RUMBLE RUMBLE!!! Heck yeah, it's going to be a fun summer on the Harley Fatbob (codename...The Fatty...cause chicks dig my Fatty). I'm looking to do Delmarva Bike Week in Ocean City MD in Sept.
Falcon, gotta ask man...how the hell did that happen?
No excuses! -
Haven't been riding much lately, but hope to change that. The 'Busa's crying out for attention
F72, that looks bad. Were you hurt? Damage to bike?
What happened?"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -

The BMW ran a stop sign, plus I was going way too fast. It was his fault, but I could have avoided it had I been driving more appropriately.
I T-boned him at about 60mph (in a 25). My bike landed upside down somehow, and, according to the police report, I landed 60ft away in the middle of the road. Luckily it was a one way street, so I wasn't thrown into oncoming traffic.
I had excellent gear on, so all I got was a broken shoulder, broken wrist, little nerve damage in the back, and a banged up hip. Some minor surgery and physical therapy later, and I'm good as new! ... kinda.
The bike was totaled. The frame snapped in half in a couple places due to the impact.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Every time I get on it it's like a ride at the fair - can't help but wind up with a big grin!"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -

It's crazy out there! People in cars just do not pay attention. They're far more worried about sending a text, taking a call or playing with the apps on their smartphone. I see it all the time!No excuses! -
175cc DT Yamaha + acreage = no more road rash for me !! Even with lights on and open pipes, it's way too easy to get flattened ! I strongly urge folks to pass up on a few new CDs and spend that money on a compressor/air horn combo, just might make the difference between up and down !
-
...gdb...i know a few Rolling Thunder riders....bunch of great people there....thier probably not as big here as down south. but very respectful riders..ive never been one to be a bike club nember because family n work. but older i get i seem to have more time on my hands..

You were able to come back from that? Wow! That is great. But may I ask just how "old" you were when you took that spill for "reference"? I had a good friend who got hit head on in a van. The front end was crushed like an accordion and both of his legs were literally smashed to pieces. He had to be extracted by special equipment and spent almost a year in a series of full leg casts with more metal in there than a hardware store. Rehab to over a year and yes, he more or less recovered fully (for a while even the Doctors didn't know if he would be capable of walking normally? But, but...he was in his late 20s!!! That's why I'm curious.

I was 27 (28 now). My body didn't hit the car. My bike hit the car, and my body just flew over top of it and tumbled in the street, which is much better than if I had slammed into the car.
Like I said, I had good gear on. Full-face helmet, full armored leather jacket with hard armor in the forearms, shoulders, and back, carbon fiber armored leather gloves, good boots.
Even through the leather jacket and hard armor, my should still got some pretty road rash... as well as a fracture to the upper humerus. If I hadn't had that jacket on, I don't think there would have been much meat left on the bone.
They stuck a pin in my wrist, I'd say my wrist is at 75% now. My shoulder is more like 90%, and my hip is about 70%. Given the circumstances, I didn't get banged up too bad. I've been playing tennis this weekend, which says a lot!2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Here's a picture of Randy's fat boy. It's lookin' real nice. I wrecked a Honda when I was a teenager. I never got back on one although both my brothers still ride.
Here's Randy's bike:

I'll give ya props for this Falcon...you had the common sense to wear all the right riding gear. I was out riding yesterday in the 90 degree humid heat here in Baltimore. I still had heavy riding boots, jeans, a light but armored jacket and full modular helmet on. I saw so many people out riding in shorts, flip-flops, half helmets and t-shirts. You go down wearing that, no matter what speed, it's bad news!
The old saying still stands...sweat wipes off far easier than road rash!No excuses! -

Yea it was mid-July in Richmond, VA when I got in my wreck. It was pushin' 100 out, and damn humid. I was very tempted to not wear my jacket, but I did, and I'm glad!2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
