Dynaudio Audience 70 Speakers

I have the chance to buy a pair of speakers that I've had my eye on for awhile and need to fund them.

Their is a chip on the rear corner of one speaker and minor flaws here and there. Both tweeters have minor dimples that the previous owner said was due to shipping. Has absolutely no effect on the sound of the tweeter. I'll take pictures tomorrow. The speakers are black.

For local pickup because I don't have any boxes.

$600

Found a great shipping and packaging shop down the street from my house. Now willing to ship!

What speakers do you have your eye on? And, out of curiosity, what would shipping to the East Coast look like? Not saying yes, but curious.

    Thanks.

I actually bought em' and they are the PSB Synchrony One's. Not sure about shipping to the east coast but I'm guessing around $100. I'd help with shipping costs just to make room for the new towers.

What city are you in? I might be interested in giving them an audience.

I'm also curious about why you posted in another thread 5 days before starting this one "Are the Audience 70's any good?"

    I'm in San Diego, CA.

Others on the forum know me for how fast I cycle through gear. One fellow calls me an audio schizophrenic  I posted that thread because I wasn't familiar with the Dynaudio lines and because of the great feedback I actually took a 2 hour drive and bought them. Once again my eye has caught another speaker and so I have to make room.

I would love to give them an audience, hit me in the PM's and lets work something out.

I can speak for the Audience 70's as they are a ridiculously good speaker and for $600.00 used in good shape they are STELLAR!
If you properly power them they will bring out things in your music lesser speakers have no ability to.

When you hear people talking about magic in audio , these speakers are what many would be referring to. They have an ability to pull you in , leave you lost in the tones of passion , emotion and pull out your deep desires. they can take you on a ride of audio nirvana.

They are a $1600.00 retail speaker back in 2000 or 2001 I believe the last 70 rolled off the line. Then the 72 was out around that time followed by the 72se which is their best work in the 7 series.

If you need speakers and want something special at a deal thats retarded , then jump I say before someone else does.

Very eloquent. And I couldn't agree more. These are the real deal, as some boxer might say!

    Nicely done, Dan!

Wow, I don't know whether I'd want to listen to them or... marry them!!

    Thanks guys!

There is something about someone else really appreciating something you have. It's making me think twice about letting them go! I hardly got to know these speakers but they are fantastic and don't lack in any one area. The have the bottom, middle, and top covered with clean and accurate sound. For small floorstanders, I was surprised at how much PUNCH they have.

There are few speakers out there that can do this and Dynaudio is one of those speaker companies who figured out how to make unbelievable sounding speakers. The first time I heard them I was floored.

I'd like to see some comments about dimpled tweeters. Invariably when someone is selling a speaker with dimpled drivers you see a statement like "sound quality is not affected", but I'm not so sure about that. Doesn't it have to be affected? It's usually not possible to make a comparison with undimpled tweeters.

Then why did you replace them?:razz:

Some people just want to hear "everything". Look at how many bookies, etc., Doro and others go through. It's like a revolving door. I think it's a matter of personal taste.

As for me, I like to hold onto things and buy others and hold on to those, and...? Eventually, I move gear, but very very very slowly, so that I have more items than I can use around here. So maybe these guys have the "ticket".

The other factor here is "how much disposable cash" you have and if you're married, and how much your wife is going to Balk, if you keep moving speakers in and out of her "spaces". If your wife is first born, as am I, look out! Because she ain't going to back down at any point!

So if you're free of all that? Why not? It's a hobby, after all! And some are more active and some more laid back!

It's not always about getting something better , sometimes it's a matter just wanting something different.

Not to mention it's fun getting new or different speakers.
