Selling my 9 month old sc-57 in good condition (8/10). Comes with remote, iPod cable, and manual. I don't have the MCACC setup mic but can be purchased for around $40. I am the second owner and this unit comes with an extended warranty from Best Buy ($200 value) and it's transferable. I don't have the manufacturers box or packing so I'll keep this local pickup for now. I'll post pictures later on.

Spec & info on unit found here:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Elite+Receivers/SC-57

Asking $1000

Thanks for looking.

I would buy it right now if you were willing to ship.

Thats a really nice receiver and a great price, why not just toss it in any old box with sturdy packaging and I'm sure it will be gone in minutes

I'd be willing to ship at buyers expense. I'll be contacting Pioneer later on to inquire about the double box and packing material.

Sounds good but I want to give Falcon first dibs as he replied first. If he's no longer interested than its yours. I'll keep you posted. Don't think the packing would work because I think the 57 isn't as tall as the sc-07/27/37.

Sorry for the slow response, I couldn't access the site.

I called Pioneer, and they do not sell any boxes. Also, your estimate of 40 bucks for the mic was spot on for a new one... you may even be able to source a used one cheaper.

Anyway, I am going to pass for now. I need to do some more research as well as triage my audio purchases more definitively. It may very well be that I end up wanting a SC-57, but that's how it goes...

    blueboxer, she's all yours!

I'm curious as to why you are selling? Anything about it you were not happy with?

Thats a ridiculously low price and I can't see why you still have it. Once you move it I'm curious what you get next.

Mantis, can you confirm if the packing or dimensions are that off? I would assume they would work. Was waiting for the 6X series, but I have a suspicion that all of the previous models were indeend 4 ohm capable.

The SC-57 is a bit smaller then the older SC models which all share the same size chassis. An older box for shipping might be a little crazy but if packed right , I can see safe travel.
The older models will support 4 ohms but you will lose dynamic range. I didn't notice much loss when I ran a full Dynaudio system off the SC-07 but I don't listen at reference levels. I did turn it up to reference but it's to loud to leave there even for testing purposes. It didn't clip or sound bad in any way.
What speakers are you trying to drive with it?

    Dan,

I was going to use it with LsiM center and surrounds with Lsi15's up front. Leaning towards adding another elite or a NAD 775 or 785.

Why are you mixing the old with the new? They sound totally different.

    Bump...

Warranty from Best Buy good until August 2015. I would guess shipping would be about $65 and that's with FedEx packing it. I'll refund the difference if it's less.

To bad, it is a good reciever. I have one with the RF remote that I use in the living room for music and regular TV. In my new HT room, I use a Denon 4311ci.

Wish someone would've bought it. It's too nice to go into the bedroom... Guess I could be persuaded to sell... Lol

if your going to drop it to $960, you might as well keep it at 1k and throw in free shipping (if they want anything extra its on them). If I already didnt have my 37, this would be a killer deal
