What Amp and How to break in new sub?

I just Bought a Polk Audio 12" Dxi 112 in a preloaded box. this is my first sub woofer and i was wondering what would be the perfect amp for me to get the best quality i can out of my sub and i want it to run cool and effectivly. reading different reviews on Best Buy, i read that alot of people blew this sub out right away and didnt like it at all, but then there were people who said they loved it and im sure its casue they knew what they were doing, so i want to make sure that i know what is gonna be the best. what is the best way to break in a new sub? This sub looks well built and i want to make sure that i get the perfect amp and for everything to run the way it is supposed to. also i want to make sure that the amp i get isnt overpowering so i can have it loud as possible! please help me figure this all out, Thanks!
